Wow, never seen those before. The colouring on the males is amazing though!
Not in any near me :(
Why should those who do actually value and respect the fish have to suffer though?
ridiculous isnt it!
Nope, just your bog standard common otocinclus
I think I may have just discovered the worlds most expensive otocinclus in a local shop.
£10 (that's ten pounds!) each! What is the world coming to?!

I've never heard of them eating plants or moss, but I may be wrong, couldn't say for certain
are those what they call Baker's cichlids?
The warmer the water the less O2 it can hold I think, so this is most likely a contributing factor
I think the OP is referring to the fact that ember tetras are quite a bit smaller than harlequins / rummynose / cardinals etc
Where are you located Thomas? If you're within driving distance of Wolverhampton, check out Coxwell Aquatics, thats where Mark Breeze (microman)...
I very much doubt there will be problems, as long as you acclimatise them to the new tank the same way you would a new fish.
Catching them first...
Good luck Clark, looks like a nice little breeding setup you have there.
Looking forward to seeing how this one progresses, keep us updated with pics!
Use 2 nets, one in each hand, herd them into one with the other
take your time, do it slowly
usually works for me
£1.75 each?! Crikey! What tetra's have you been buying for that much?
A pair of rams and a pair of apisto should get along fine in a 200L, as long as there are plenty of caves/rocks/breaks in the territory, 2 pairs...
Rummynose! By far the best tetra, ever!
i live in a soft water area and have had 15 M. praecox in my rio180 for several months and they're all doing fine
Yup. Melanotania praecox
no, i'm after some, and when i googled them, 2 different species came up, so wasnt sure which was correct.
turns out they both were!
ah, so they are seperate species!
What is the current scientific name for these tetra? Is it Hemigrammus bleheri or Hemigrammus rhodostomus?
Have they been reclassified, or are...
thanks for the input guys. I prefer the appearance of A.hongsloi so I think I'll go for a 1M2F harem of those, just to be on the safe side
Does anyone know much about apistogramma? there's some A.hongsloi and A.nijsseni coming into work next week, and I really want a pair of each
Separate names with a comma.
