What size of aquarium are you looking to use?
Tropica or ADA substrate will both do a great job.
I had a Rio 125 many years ago running T8s and I had a thriving low tech tank with no algae.
Fast forward to a couple of years ago and I...
The Rio 125 is a nice tank but that lighting can be a pain. One way to compensate is to buy some reflectors (or use tin foil) and use them...
At the moment I have the EI ferts. I simply dose a third of the weekly amount of Macro on Sunday and Micro on Monday.
Prior to that I used...
I would say ferts are a must. Maybe not initially.
I dose all my low-techs once per week after the water change.
Where have you seen this mentioned?
One thing I would suggest. If you opt for the 1610mm MMS rail it will leave you enough spare rail in case you wish to add a second light later on.
You can use the TMC rim mounting brackets (with an MMS rail).
It's worth getting the dimmer too.
I agree. My tank with soil, floaters and reasonable plant mass has never had one spot of algae.
I have ensured I have kept lighting levels in...
Use pond soil.
You will need Neutro + with Neutro CO2.
They look great!
I find this too. I stick my Anubias in the substrate with the Rhizome exposed. These plants have always done better than those attached to rocks/wood.
