Full ei could double your tank water tds.
Give it a try.
Fish waste might be enough
Eco complete has no major nutrients,
I'm not familiar with the excel stuff, does it contain. Nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium?
Light causes algae.
Full dose, unless you've used a nutritious substrate with lots of n.p.k
Sounds good to me.
1/4 ei is probably more than enough,
Try to split the dosage into daily additions.
I use 1/4 ei dosage in my low tech 260 litre.
Any more than this just increases my ppm exponentially and is a waste.
Why not just add the dry salts to the aquarium
You'll need to work out how many spoonfuls of each powder.
I use less than 1/4 dosage on my low light low tech 260
Just Google potassium in plants.
Its pretty vital to food crops, I doubt its any less so in aquarium plants.
but then again, nearly all other 'tabs' are pretty rubbish, containing very little
Tnc tabs are very good
Tnc seemed very expensive compared to tropica.
When dosing carbon you also need to add full spectrum plant food , flourish contains only trace elements- unless you are using individual bottles...
As Tim says, by dosing carbo you are encouraging plant growth, macro becomes essential
I would add a small amount after every water change, or you could add it when you see the need
If you want greenery, you need macros :)
Which seachem food? Most do not contain. NPK - the macro nutrients
pretty much, the co2 / light combination seems the issue here.
Sand works as well as any inert substrate.
I guess it would be on the 'lean' side. With no livestock entering this system , I can experiment freely. Thanks all
2-3 times dose per week? Interesting.
yep. Got guidance, but no indicators of % npk etc. I only used dry powders before
Just curious to see what people do , in terms of double dosing etc. I have no idea if its a strong fert or not.
My 40 litre quarantine. So, 30 litres of water , the rest florabase and plants. No fish.
After driving around the south west of England this morning, I finally found a shop that actually sells ferts that contain npk ( note to all...
Just pour half dose in. Or even the full amount. Water change will reset it later
Mmmm, feet soup...
what is your tap water nitrate figure? Your plants should be ok for a few days, you could decrease lighting if you are worried.
how much are you using in your tank? mine makes no difference to my tank water colour. my bottle of trace is orange in colour.
do some reading of peoples journals here, after a while you get a grip on things.
carbon is ok. Root tabs are ok too.
buy an ei starter kit from aquarium plant food uk. dosing once a week will not work in your high tech set up. i mean, you will feed the fish every...
try washing your filter foams every month. Probably best to do only half each time.
what is your cleaning ritual like? how often do you rinse the filter media etc? what flow do you have around the tank?
have they come from a humid environment- a lidded tank?
your plants certainly do look happy
that is my thoughts.... What can benefit plants . I think i tend to use my dry salts like a hammer.
well.... At those prices it should be good.
how are you getting on with these?
how do you think the plants will go without food?
feet mix!!! is that with extra sock fluff?
that is serious flow!- my fish wouldnt' last long in that !
do plants only use minerals etc when lights are on? i expect they use nutrients constantly, as we do.
aquarium plant food UK. Get their ei starter kit. 18 pounds. Will last you many months. Works good.
