Id make a trip to Finest Aquatics. They've got tons of hardscape in there now with the new aquascaping section (and you can see the tank I setup on the demo day :) )
You are right about the bigger dof with the smaller sensor on the iPad. To get a closer dof in the camera you’d need high f stops 16-22 but that requires a lot more light, hence you will need the flash. It all comes down to physics at the end of the day though and you’ll never get a larger dof...
Hi all
I’m putting my eheim experience 350 onto my DENNERLE Scapers tank.
It’s got a 16/22mm hose but my nano pipes are 12/16mm so I’m looking to reduce them.
Rather than buy reducers then double taps has anyone ever reduced via a double tap? I was think of buying a 12/16mm DT and 16/22...
We've got malm in our house and knowing how they are built I absolutely wouldn't put anything heavy on them. They even tell you on the instructions to not put a TV on them. The way they are built it would just fold if the back panel gave way or came loose.
Just a little tip Dave when taking photos with the iPhone. If you put some card on the top lip of the tank and rest it on the light you’ll stop the glare which is reducing the contrast on your photos. Should get a better idea of what it looks like then [emoji1303]
Lovely hardscape and the plants have filled in really well with it. The Hue background looks great and its something Ive been wanting to try but I was considering going with frosted perspex like the ADA ones. I hadn't thought of just doing a film with the Hue. The blue night glow you've got...
Thanks. Might be a bit more difficult then as the lightstrip doesn't do 90 degree corners very well :( I might try a single side or 3 sides and see what it looks like
Just to drag this one back up.
As there is no 120cm option for the ADA panel and Ive got a Phillips HUE lightstrip plus handy I was thinking of trying a DIY effort with a frosted panel of acrylic.
Does anyone know the lighting layout within the ADA panel? i.e. is is a single strip underneath...
Have you thought about getting some Ada hornwood from Tgm now it’s half price? You could probably fill a 60cm scape for a hundred quid at the moment and it will be cheaper than shipping manzi over
Try his forum directly if you do t have Facebook. https://barrreport.com/threads/manzanita-this-year.14278/
Re filter I’ve always fancied getting a g6 for the handy cleaning. Not tried an oase filter sorry
You could contact Tom Barr directly on Facebook. He sells and ships big boxes of Manzi. You could probably make your money back by picking the pieces you want then selling the others on eBay.
If you are after a custom tank near to 60p then have a word with Nick Chan of aquarium cabinet...
Cubes are a pita to scape. Go with a mini-m
Re scaping the nano tanks. If you’re going low tech you’ll need to reduce the light output from the big leds. I usually smash loads of co2 into my high tech nanos at the beginning and keep them unstocked. Shrimp seem to do quite well in high co2 if...
Welcome back Dean. I am also back after a bit of an outage at home.
Currently designing a Dennelle scapers tank in my kitchen which Ill be putting pics up of soon.
If you want a Mini-m from the UK then sadly they are sold out at the main distributer Greenmachine. There may be some in the...
Well. That’s your lot for Ada in the uk until (if ever) a new distributor is found. It’s Europe only after Tgm sell out their last stocks :(

im popping in this week so Ill ask them if anything is staying open. They hold distribution for the UK through another company so if this closes as well ADA won't have a distributer.

Depends on how dense your stone is. E.g. Lava is lighter than seiryu so you'd get more. Also depends on how high you want to go in the tank and if you're banking it for depth
Amazing scapes this year again.

The deadline for the AGA entry is tomorrow (sept 18th) so if you're thinking of entering then pop over there to register and get your scapes in!

Bulgaria:21Euro
Croatia:27Euro
Czech Republic:18Euro

France:21Euro...
It was 50Kg for the 120cm but that won't be valid now. They were just starting out and have increased their prices since then. Their Facebook page has examples of layouts with weights and prices in euros with shipping so you will be able to work out the per kilo price
Yep thats the same people. Aquaman he goes by. I bought a complete hardscape but changed it was I was using wood.
I was a bit nervous about transferring £200 to a polish bank but it came off well in the end :)
You'll need to check the ancient stone Facebook page as it depends on weight and postage as they ship from Poland. They have prices for arranged scapes on there with weight shown.
You'll never get manten cheap. Ancient stone is very similar but I think their price has gone up since I last bought some. Still cheaper than £10 per kilo though
Cheers Tim. Was hoping for a top 100 again (eventual aim is top 27) but dropped from last years 54 so gone backwards. Need to have a think about next years as unsure which way to go to improve atm
Not many have used manten as you'd need to sell several kidneys. Don't think the stuff ae sells is manten as its more rounded. Should make a nice iwagumi though. Have a look on the Ada website for examples
Got to be honest. If I see a thread entitled "Hi there" then I'm 99% sure thats a new member introducing themselves in the "New Members Introductions" sub-forum.
If they then ask about co2 then we as members can either answer it quickly or guide them to make a new post in the co2 forum...
if you can, get it in a big bucket of water now and flush it now and again until it goes into the tank. I tried akadama once and it was dusty as hell. Moler clay is harder than akadama but I stick to soils now.
Looks very nice. Smash that big right stone with a hammer and use the shards to build up the front edges. That gap on the front left needs some smaller ones fitting in :)
what settings are you using on the camera?
Can you see the lights above the tank through the lens? (if so try and fix it so you can't, i.e. flag it with some card or something)
looks perfect! maybe a little moss tied to the wood and then trimmed when it grows would break up the woody part of the tank. Or maybe stick some ferns in the wood hollows.
welcome to the forum too!
