Which fish species is the most underrated in your opinion?

Definetly White cloud Minnows. Also Kribensis, had them many years ago, found them really interesting and they breed easily. Great to watch how they are with there fry and they have alot!.

Tropica nano CO2 for 140l tank

Agree with this. I brought a nano tropica Co2 and have never used it. It would not last long on a 200liter tank!. Best off going with Co2 art regulator(They do kits with everything you need)and a fire extinguisher, can pick a 2kg one off ebay for around £20.

    Scape Contest Comments

Exactly this. Could use cardboard for the box. And collect everything else from outdoors. So wont cost a penny bar the £3 entry fee. Opens it up for pretty much everybody to get involved then.

    Garden Plant ID's. Post here!

That's good to hear that it wont rot when its fully submerged. Was thinkinh with the cones to maybe boil them and put them in more for looks, would these still be beneficial for shrimp if I was to do this or pretty pointless?.

Do they seem to bother plants?

    Garden Plant ID's. Post here!

Hi Darrel Thankyou for confirming what it is. Was wondering as thinking of collecting some cones and branches to use for a future aquarium.

    Godswood - my personal paradise.

I have to completely agree with @Conort2 and @Witcher. I brought a Fluval Flex 37liter about two months ago and it is home to one male betta, think it's a good size for him but I will not be adding any more fish as wouldnt want to compromise on space for him. 80 fish in a 123Liter is well over...

    Woodland Troll - Take Four

Have to say I did like the original scape but you've made it even better, maybe what happened, happened for a reason. Going to look epic when that all grows in.
  30. Paul27

    "Cheap" 60F

Wouldnt bother with DIY Co2, to much hassle. Pressurised system all the way. Tank has been done really well, like the beach area. What you planning to stock in there?. Judging by the foam around the intake, I'm assuming your having shrimp too.
  31. Paul27

    Ada 60p, the trunk

Do like the second version but the first one is a winner for me. Find it very interesting to look at.
  32. Paul27

Jumped after 2 and a half years

Having had my Betta for just over 2 and a half years, i found him today dead and dried up in the basket underneath my tank. At some point during the night he had jumped out, in all my time of having him he had never done this. I have a tank upstairs that was only going to be temporary when i...

    Ember tetra price

Never really thought about Endlers, had a read through that article, some interesting patterns on them. I know I'm limited to what I can have due to the size of tank, my house is quite small so got no chance of having a much bigger tank at the moment. I already have a Male betta and a asian...

    Ember tetra price

Went to independent fish shop today was having a look around, then I noticed some ember tetra and them looked at the price and you could have 5 for £8, was quite amazed. I have been holding out for some chilli rasbora due to there size but half tempted to get a group of 10 of these. I know they...

    Fish from Pets At Home

Do agree with @Fisher2007 with independent shops, they can have some species you dont see typically on a day to day basis either.
  53. Paul27

    Fish from Pets At Home

Think it all depends really on what pets at home you go to as some shops have well maintained tanks and some are nothing short of awful. I've had albino Cory's from them in the past and didnt have a problem with them but that was from a store that maintain there tanks very well.

    Bit of a disaster

The Cory's used to be quite active, then they just started to not be and then went one after another. Shrimp there was no different behaviour, they just died off one by one.. Heater is fine, water temp is exactly same temperature it's always been. Water quality might have been a possibility...

  67. Paul27

    Bit of a disaster

Something has happened in my tank that has wipeout every inhabitant bar my betta fish. Never had this happened before, not sure if it's due to anything new I have added in, plants, hardscape. Plan is though is to completely strip it and rescape. Will boil the two pieces of wood I want to reuse...
  68. Paul27

    The shallow one

Have added some more Buce and hygrophila pinnatifida to the tank and some crypts also some fissidens fontanus poms poms off @Filip Krupa on here and some more stone.

    Floating plants

How big do the lily's actually get?
  70. Paul27

    Floating plants

Like the look of Phyllanthus fluitans, specifically as its red. Might be the one to go for.
  71. Paul27

    Floating plants

I'm quite liking the idea of adding some floating plants to my tank but it's only 20cm tall. I've had dwarf water lettuce in a previous tank which grew quite long roots which I really liked but that was over double the height of my current tank and would be abit over kill in this one. Would of...

    Small bug?

I have had him for nearly 2 and a half years, he has seen three different tanks and countless rescapes and during this time when I've ever put live food in, he has never really been a massive fan. He would either look like he was about to strike and then not bother or grab something and spit it...
  76. Paul27

    Small bug?

They have 6 legs. My Betta was watching one and looked like he didnt know whether to eat it or not. Left it in the end. Long as it's not harmful to the fish or plants, it doesn't really bother me. Interested in what it is though, think Darrel is right
  77. Paul27

    Small bug?

Had a look a what you suggested it might be but looks different. It reminds me of a aphid. It fell off when the cat fish started to swim
  78. Paul27

    Small bug?

Noticed this today. If you look on the back fin of the catfish, there is some sort of small bug. Noticed a few, seem to be hanging around on the plants. Have added some cryptocoryne lucens, so wonder if they have hitched hiked on that as never seen them before adding it. Any ideas?
  79. Paul27

    Tropica & Pets at Home

There are two quite near to me, the one there are never any dead fish in the tanks, Always crystal clear and very well maintained. Where as the other one is pretty much the opposite.
  80. Paul27

    Bucephalandra

Fully back this 100% as I have been to there shop and brought from them. Was just out of being abit inpatient and wanting to go out and get some more and was just wondering if there was anywhere pretty close that sold any. Is becoming my favourite plant.
  81. Paul27

    The Crack

    Totally agree
  82. Paul27

    Bucephalandra

Does anybody know of any shops in or around Birmingham that sell Bucephalandra ?
  83. Paul27

    Thai micro crabs

So they have been around for a while then. Surprising how after so long there not commonly bred but by the sounds of it there must be a lot of difficulty breeding them.
  84. Paul27

    Thai micro crabs

That's a fair point mate. Dont fancy being part of the reason they completely disappear.
  85. Paul27

    First proper scape

Any more ideas on what other fish you will be having?
  86. Paul27

    Thai micro crabs

Just looking at possibly in future of getting some. Did you actually ever get to really see them because of being so small? Not sure about them being endangered
  87. Paul27

    Thai micro crabs

Just wondering if anybody has experience with these?.
  88. Paul27

    Post-apochalyptica

Would very interested to see this, very true in watch your saying. Look at how many reefs there are with sunken ships etc that becomes home to corals, fish and other organisms
  89. Paul27

    First proper scape

Gives a really calming effect, if that makes sense and that's just by looking at a picture of it. Honestly think it looks great. Define aquascaping though, yes you can replicate nature etc but I personally think it all just comes down to personal taste and what's pleasing on the eye for that...

    The shallow one

Thanks. I'm happy with it, considering the light is on its lowest setting it's not going to badly. I did have some rotala 'H'ra' in the left hand corner but it had rotted at the base so that had to be take out, right hand side it's doing perfectly fine. Think the rock that was weighing the wood...
  93. Paul27

    The shallow one

3 weeks since last update. Still low light Rock that was weighing the wood down is now removed. Please Ignore the floating debris as its just had a water top up
  94. Paul27
