as far as these things...
so after spending a few hours trying to sort it out i have finally got it to a reasonable position but not as good as before, unfortunately to get the substrate as it was before i would have to remove all the plants and start again and frankly i cant be bothered doing that so......
il post a pic...
everything was all going well then yesterday DISASTER STRUCK the stupid pump suction cups came loose, the pump fell of the glass and then blew my substrate all over and filled my white path and up rooted plants and just made a general mess of the tank.
to say that i was slightly angry is an...
thanks i appreciate the comment, like i said to fire fly i will bank it a bit more over the rioght hand.
Also im going to get some taller growing plants on the banks too which will add to the sense of height either side (any suggestions on plants is welcome)
well it was higher until i filled it and it has slipped a bit but the left side has stayed high, only on the angle the camera is its hard to see because its behind the main stone lol, i will bank it some more on the right side soon

Yeah I was thinking the right rocks will look nice when planted around, I'm thinking of leaving the marine blue background think it will contrast well with all the green, only time will tell on that score ;)
quick update i am heading to green machine north wales in the morning to get my substrate and sand, i will start playing with my design which has changed about 5 times a day for the last month, think i have finally settled on an idea now though so watch this space......
ok so today i bought some ceramic media because i left the old stuff out of the filter in a box in the garden and couldn't be bothered gathering it all up lol.

OK so today i underwent the 1st stages of the change, i have emptied my tank and had a real good clean out this took nearly 4 hours lol, all algae etc has been removed. After this i have broken down my canister filter (fluval 405), removed all media and carbon etc and all compartments are now...

Hi as a few of you may/may not know I'm a marine fish keeper ATM who is moving into planted ( my fish are for sale currently) as soon as I've sold my stock etc will b getting ready for the change.
Obviously will need an epic clean out of my filter and tank etc because of the salt, does anybody...
the tank looks very symmetrical, i always think you should avoid that as it is something the human mind does and not what nature does (our own minds trick us into believing that symmetry is nicer but that's another story lol) :D
looks good the only thing IMO is that the rock on the left doesn't seem to match up with the other rocks, im wondering whether it has better texture similar to other big one on the other side? (as in flip the rock around)
i have had guarami's and there cool but i think the siamese is one of the nicest looking fresh water fish about if you decide to go with the siamese fighter get a lone one. there not great even with the females also their terrible for attacking guppies too
try it lol is all i will say on that (im welsh) also as soon as they did there would be cause for legal precedent to be changed ye i live in connahs quay its like 10 mile from there
hey ady cheers, yeah have a been a few times to green machine i live slap in the middle of chester and wrexham so its not too far also answers kevins question lol
