I have to admit that I have lost a lot of diffusion from it before and running a hose cleaner / pipe cleaner through it did resolve that. They go gunk up in the same way as the hoses do, so you may be correct

hi, I suppose the first thing to understand is what sort of bubble counter is it? generally the water that is in the counter should not be able to travel towards the diffuser as there is meant to be a 'air' gap created between the top of the counter liquid and the hose by the co2 going through...

Do you not just get the same water out as what goes in? I thought basically that it was just a filter system in line before the tap..... Also what does tap water cost? less than 0.5p a litre rather than £3 for 20lt or RO.

Yes buy a unit, you dont want to have to rely on going somewhere to get water in order to do a change. I looked into it and seem to remember that you can get them for something like £80 so in the long run cheaper

Yep I agree with Big clown and sa80mark, just like a bath, but I suppose it also depends on how big the room is and where you put it, its likely that you are going to put it against a wall where the joists are strongest just make sure its across them as stated above.

I have 2 T5s, 39w I think. Coincedentally I am trying to get more light to the bottom of the plants at the back as I have been trimming them and replanting the cuttings to thinken out the rear plants. The photo is a few weeks old so there is now a lot more growth. Cheers
