I recently built a drift wood center piece and wanted to build my own slate caves, as i already stated my diy skills are crap but the where there is a will and all that slate slate slate slate.... food safe inch dia discharge hose Done!

In tank shots has proved very popular with plecos and bamboo shrimp that live in the crack down the middle, it provides enough shade for plecs and still lets you view them which is what I was aiming for...but what do you guys think? drowned moose????:D

Ok the exo terra turned up:( its the most finest sand ive ever come across its like powder and also their brown is more like orange to me!!! Can anyone suggest any darker brown sand substrate to me as i cant find any anywhere! If anyone has any spare would be happy to do a deal? only need 3-4...

Now these Lengths are 20" ish the wont fit in the 15 inch bowfront which means more wonky sawing! Yup Wonky!! offcut will serve as a foot connecting the two top pieces

Yeah but their only captive bred bumblebee shrimp which are native to vietnam so your not that far out.. im gonna mix crs with bumblebee in this tank for contrast. Biotopes are lovely and yours is great but it gets to the point sometimes that people get so anal' about the tank that fun goes...

I have the same issue, Im in the process of screwing the base of the wood to some floor tiles I will then hide the tile under Gravel and wait as some wood can take upto a year to waterlog propely
