I have had this filter running for about 2 months now. My view is...get it! its got plenty flow for your tank and is one of the best filters iv ever used. It is silent, has great power and is easy to adjust if needed. It looks cooler than most of the other filters around atm as well. :)

In my opinion id say dry ferts. Try to work out how long a bottle of TPN+ lasts, and then comparative amounts of dry ferts you could get for that money. Once the ferts are mixed in with water and you have the dosing plan written down it is literally as easy as 1, 2, 3. I use them on my 300...

It was my bday the other week and i ended up getting fallout 3, farcry 2, fable 2 and deadspace. Must say i cant get off of fallout, and am enjoying dead space, however the other 2 seem to have fallen to the bottom of the pile..maybe the sort you have to get into. Looking forward to COD 5 though.

There seems to be a growing number of us who have had a bad experience with the Ex1200. As sam says above, the ex600 is great, iv not had a leak and its quiet..apart from the problem mentioned above. Its a shame as for the price (if it worked properly) itd be a good filter. Thanks, Howard

Im very near Southend in Essex. Its a good hours drive to the nearest Maidenhead and the P@H arent that great for aquatics. I mainly rely on a swallow aquatics which is have gone to from the start but they are mainly bread & butter stock - good quality but never much variety. =] Howard

I bought the 1st set you were looking at, one didnt make it into the tank as i broke it when my little finger brushed it :x The 2nd i managed to get into the tank, tubing attached etc. only to find the ceramic was solid and no gas was coming out at all. when removing it...it broke. So...

The idea is to have the rocks closer to the front and only have glosso infront. that way hopefully the rocks will still be on display but with growth around the sides and behind i quite like the current layout..that added to the fact i cant really afford more rocks :( i think i might leave it...
