is the EI dosing for the 20 gallon tank in UK gallons or US?

can anyone tell me if UV reduces algae? do you all use them? can you recommend a good one for me, I have 450 litres, and will have 900 litres. how do you have uv? in a filter or is there other ways? also I am not sure if I posted in the correct place, apologies if I was wrong

I now have it on 2 hours before lights on, and turn it off 1 hour before lights off, maybe I can turn it off sooner, will try it out

how much did the old tank cost to run? the 860 litre, as this is close to the size im getting (900) the co2 cost mainly. ill be using the 480w lighting I already have, so the only increase I will have is the extra co2 and ferts, but as I am new to this I am worried about the co2 cost

I wish mine was like that in 8 days. I bought a bulb, it now has 3 leaves about an inch long, after about 8 days lol REALLY red though so am very happy. also bought a bigger potted lotus from the green machine, tall and flimsy, and more greens in it. both are great but not similar at all...

probably an easy answer, but does taking off a leaf make it grow more? I have read somewhere if the leaves are damaged to remove them completely to make the plant produce a new leaf. is this true? does it encourage more growth?

I do see that, this is also only a couple of minutes, I do see them in direct flow, but when they get too close it does knock them about but that's literally a couple of inches from the wavemaker, also they aren't always trying to swim in the current. most of the time they just shoal normally...

as you are aware I had problems with the o2 level in my tank when I repositioned my wavemakers I put them back to the surface and came home to this, all is well and good again :D
