Just close everything, once connected turn the output pressure to around 40, then adjust the needle valve to suit whatever bps you require. That's all I did anyway.

No scientific reply from me, but I had BBA in my heavily fed but heavily filtered tank, in low light and in high light areas. Only thing in common with where the BBA grew was that it was a high flow area. I either scraped the wood to remove it, or dosed the rocks with easycarbo to kill it and...

I use mine with a reactor. (although I got the "jebao", just before they rebranded) I have the 9000 on my 800 litre running through a DIY/20" water filter and no problems at all. Very quiet and highly recommended :thumbup:

The only problem I had with HC was its tiny roots, easily up rooted by fish, other than that was ok. Just buy a pot of each, interplant them and let them get on with it. If the HC seems to be doing well you can always pull the MC.

I've got some on my rocks where they hit the substrate in the centre of the tank, 33 inch from the light. In the lowest flow area of the tank, directly in front of the weir, there is no sign of it on the rocks. This gets the same amount of light as the right hand side too, where there is BBA...

The CT1 is silly expensive. We sometimes use it at work when we need to seal underwater. HA6 is the norm for aquariums. >Link< About a quarter of the price.

Quick phone pic update. I removed the rest of the sand yesterday, put the black basalt in and planted some MC. The plain sand foreground just wasn't doing it for me. I plugged some more holes in the rock so hopefully I've finally stopped the cat litter pouring out. Still need some magdalensis...

What bottle do you use for the mix at the moment? Just run it into another one the same but using that principle. You can make it look as "elegant" as you want, You don't have to strap it to the side like this fella :D

No they all stayed nice and healthy. The first batch lasted a lot longer though, these were gone for about 11 o'clock the next morning. I showed a breeder a picture of their first lot and he was surprised by the amount, to say it was their first time.

For the sake of a couple of minutes work, it's always worth checking the actual flow at the outlet. You know exactly then don't you, no more guessing. I just find it easier then so I can plan things, like in your case, which one to add the chiller to. Just put a jug under the outlet and time...

That's my understanding too, although if I went EI, I'd be starting low and getting higher instead. Opposite. It's way too late to be messing around with maths now, but I'll work out tomorrow the EI dosage versus different percentages of water changes, based on the original recipe.

Have you had a look at the jebao dc pumps. I've got the 9000 and very impressed with it. Nice and quiet and low wattage. @bluemoon280 has also just bought one and seems happy with it too.
