    Back into planted tanks

My light is an inexpensive diy. It has 2 power supplies - one runs x3 white 5050 strips and x3 rgb 5050 strips. These are all 0.5w leds and works via a 12v controller. The other runs x2 yellow-ish 3w led strips and uses a 10amp supply. These can get very bright and are on a dimmer. I flooded...

Thanks everyone. Hi Rebel. It's been a long time. There's approx 12 major glue joins (i.e. defying gravity) and 5 or so tiny ones. It didn't take that long. I got a tip to use super glue soaked pieces of magic eraser in the joins. It sets like fiberglass. x8 Woolworths brand tubes (3grams...

Hi UKaps, It's been a long time since I've written anything on a forum (at least a couple years), so I'm a bit rusty. I always like this forum, so I though I'd share a new scape with you. 2013-17 I was pretty active in the hobby, entering iaplc a few times etc. But I kinda fell away, partly...

Thanks alto and soggybongo. I'll probably put up some sort of screen. But the lights are crazy in the pic, they were brand new, just turned on. They have to be burned in for 50-100hrs before they normalise. Even then, they'll still be bright.

Almost 2 months since I've posted a pic. There's 40+ fish now. I've kept the light intensity low, so it's pretty much algae free, but full coverage is taking a long time. 1 more month should do it.This pic might be a bit too vibrant ...

Yes, frosted film works well for the ada effect. Ideally you'll have the tank up against a white wall.

Found fish gasping tonight...what the heck.

I don't think it's a clogged filter. I've never heard of that happening. Is your soil new? aquasoil (like ada) lowers ph a lot for the first 6 weeks or so. new soil + pressurized co2 + high water level with little/no ripple could be the cause. how long had the co2 been running before you...

3% h2o2 should be fine. Can you lower the water level and apply (paint) the h2o2 straight onto the dw and/or rocks? Then leave it for 5-10 mins. That would work best.

Hi Jack I really like 60x45x45. Small footprint, enough height for scapes with stems. CADE is very nice, but I'd recommend the FIRE brand. Both brands make excellent tanks, but FIRE is much cheaper. CADE stands are superior to FIRE stands, but again, the price differential makes FIRE the better...

This is how I've split my co2 I split the line after the main/master needle valve. I then have an inline needle valve before a bubble counter that goes to a reactor. This valve is almost closed. The clear co2 line goes to an in-tank diffuser. The diffuser requires a lot more pressure, that's...

On the right, I'd swap out the big rock at the back and place it at the front-right. And the two smaller rocks currently front-right, I'd place at the back. I think this has a lot of potential. Moss on the arch might be the to go, hm back left and tight. After that I'm not too sure.

I think I like the second attempt best. In the current setup the largest rock leans forward a bit too much creating shadow across the front.
