Yeah exactly, ive had to use patience haha - there is a display tank with eleocharis where I work that had spread in just a few weeks, something mine hasn't done in 4 months yet.. Oh well, its on the right track now at least

Ive moved both powerheads to the side of the filter now, you can see that there are very few bubbles reaching the surface now, and they are being cycled round the tank quite well, thanks :)

Thanks :) Been running for about 8 months, and yes I use re-mineralised RO, 40-50% water changes weekly :) With shrimp you can do larger changes, just do it more slowly. I use a siphen tube, 1cm wide to add my water slowly :)

Crystals being far more delicate than most shrimp could even become stressed and die if you add the new water too quickly. It does sound like its something to do with the water, thats the problem with using tap. Id recommend using RO water :) How are you adding your new water to the tank mate...

Ive had them before in my shrimp tanks -only ever seen about 3 however.. , they can come from plants you've bought - Ive personally never seen one cause harm to a shrimp - but id get it out just incase - and also they do look unsightly in a shrimp tank I find :)

Hi Kirk, just to let you know that the co2 and ferts shouldn't really have make a difference for the rate of breeding or breeding success as long as you don't overdose on anything.. It might be that your pregnant shrimp dropped their eggs for other reasons.. Or as you say it might well be down...

Yes I know, people who aren't sure about it are the ones who get concerned, and rightly so, you dont want to put in anything thatll harm the shrimp. Levels of co2 over 30ppm are shrimp harmful, as with fish :)

It is yeah, I mean I use co2 injection and EI, which many people are concerned about with keeping shrimp, of course you should find what works for you - if youre concerned about anything its best just to place your main focus on you pr shrimp :)
