Popped out and bought some John Innes no3 compost and play sand from B & Q so gonna go with that as substrate just need to find a suitable mesh to divide the layers any advice/links appreciated.

Hi All Well will be here a while lol so be nice ;0) just converting my 5 foot 2 foor 18 inch with 36 x 18 x 15 sump from Marine to a hopefully planted discus tank. Sooo marine loads of experience and used to wasting money .........planted tank none and it starts again. Cheers Dave
