Hej been swamped in work lately. I looks good. The back is almost covered in green :-) and nice move with the wood. If you move on of the Amazon runners you can use it to cover the filter.

Well as long as your not overrun with algae you can wait. I'm going to give half of my cherry shrimp to my dad for x Mas present started with 10 now around 30-40.

Hi looking good. I have been thinking a bit about lay out. I have you considered moving the Moss deadwood to the center or even to the left and a bit further back. I think it would bring together your plant groups and give a better composition. Just a suggestion ;-)

Sorry lost my phone at my company's Christmas party.... A bit to drunk... :O. I it was actually your swords I meant. I and your hc looks healthy so everything's looking up clapping can't wait to see it all grown in in a couple of months

Oh see them now. And your shark as well looks good but I think it actually might be big enough to eat shrimp :O. I I guess that now you just have to wait.... Boring. And when your rotala gets big enough trim and replant so it gets nice and bushy. Your echinodorus looks like it's doing great :-)...
Actually I did exactly that same thing as you to get it going wc's co2 flow a few algae eaters looking forward to see the results

Thank you it's small though 30 l and has been a long way had massive problems with algae as well and have no control of light as you can see :-)

One last word hc is slow in a set up that isn't high light and notoriously difficult I use Monte Carlo wich is a lot more forgiving. Sorry for bad foto.

Ok then see if you can get some amano shrimp and a trio of otocinclus affinis. They are really good at munching up algae. Again tropica.com has an excellent example of it.

Ok this may seem like a bit of a hassle but I would up them as well to at least twice a week. Maybe try having a look at tropica's app and follow there schedule setting day 1 at your next wc it's quite decent. Actually tropica's website is a really good resource on a lot of stuff if you haven't...
Well might not need it. Have you tried to up the Co 2 a bit. If not that would be my next step. Upping the co2 and not changing anything else for a couple of weeks and if you see your carpet plants start producing new shoots give it a bit more time let's say a month.
The plants need time to...
a lot of people here seek a volume rate of about 10 x tanks I pr. hour too achieve optimal bacteriological filtration and add a circulation pump for flow. I actually have a very small internal and only tweaked co2 flow for better result. So if money is an issue then I think I would start with...
Yes that could do the trick my Mc was just sitting there doing nothing not dying but not growing until I turned my pump to adjust flow. At that point it started growing. It's still not the fastest shark in the water but slowly growing into a proper carpet.

I have a little 30l tank running solely on sunlight(pics in greetings section) and had some algae problems and for me the solution was better husbandry in effect upping wc regime (summertime every 3rd day, winter once a week) and picking any dead leaves etc. out a soon as I see them. I guess...
Nice i don't know why Moss always works for me but haven't tried anything else than java and fissidens would like to get my hands on some of the other mosses. Will follow you maybe with the new pics you're going to post we can Id your stems.☺
When I started my stems did horrible and lost all...
Well a bit of a novice myself. But in my experience it's best to change things slowly. Changes take time. If you add a lot and make a lot of changes and everything goes well all good but hard to say if it was ferts co2 or wc regime lighting etc that did the trick for later reference in...
Hi great tank would never have guessed it is your first ☺I do agree with students that it would be nice with a bit more Cover on the wood.

Hi to all of you on UKAPS
I've been lurking for quit a while ( haven't we all:-) ) and decided to introduce myself.
Last march on the request of my daughter i, after a long break of 6 years, took up the art of fish n plants and bought a small 30 liter tank and set it up with the odd bits of...
