Looks like Tonina fluviatilis

Recently started a new tank after a gap of a few years. Low tech as was my previous set up but this one is somewhat smaller, 80cm x 40cm x 40cm, Tetratec ex 800 filter with full length spray bar, using one of the two supplied Led lights which have been on for 7hrs per day. Coming up for 4 weeks...

I have sent him a polite message asking for my money back and to add postage costs if he wants the moss back. I will definitely be contacting Ebay as clearly its a scam and I do feel sorry for all those people that have bought in good faith only to be ultimately disappointed.

True, though there are one or two negative that mention it being full of "debrie" and even a worm. Mostly people will be leaving feedback on arrival and not a week down the line when the moss has started to disintegrate.

I tried to post a link but couldn't do it. I blame my age ! Anyway this is the guy, from Preston. Apparently he has 390 lots available and it's from a sustainable source( see local woods in Preston)

Thanks Darrel, my next job was identifying the species so I can doubly put him straight. At the time I did think the price was really good, now I know why! On checking Ebay it appears he has sold 14 lots in the last 24hrs.

Yes there are definitely some old pine needles and a few unidentified seed husks in there. Clearly I'll message the seller to make them aware I know what he's done and report him for selling this as aquarium moss.

Just received this from a seller on eBay claiming its java moss! . I have incidentally kept reptiles over many years and collected my own woodland moss on many occasions, 99.9% sure this has come from the woods and hasn't seen an aquarium. I paid £6.00 for two pieces so not the end of the world...

An amazing looking set up, certainly inspiring, i wonder what the maintenance schedule is like . The bird looks like a hecks grass finch, could be wrong but there seems to be a nest situated at the left rear of the tank, i wonder how practical it is to have free range finches flying around...

I know that kesgrave get a lot of their fish from Ruinmans . I once asked him about some red eye puffer fish i was intetested in, he told me to look on Ruinmans and if they had some he would order them for me.

SAE. The plain stripe on the sae is more ragged along the edge and extends into the tail fin, not so in the flying fox it's stripe is more uniform and has a gold edge to the stripe. Also if you look close enough the sae has one pair of barbels whereas flying Fox's have two.

Probably mosquito larvae, they are safe to feed to your fish. If you have enough of them you could try freezing them for use later on . Sent from my SM-G925F

Definitely an infection, Difficult to say from the pictures but it may not be a fungal infection but rather bacterial, both are similar in appearance. The bacteria .Flexibacter columnaris is commonly present in aquariums and on the skin of healthy fish, only causing issue when water conditions...

Agree with Darrel my first thought was a species from solanaceae too, :)

S. Acrostoma don't have the vertical bar present between the dorsal and caudal fin as present on some of the fish in your pictures male S. Vaillanti do.As far as I am aware only female S.vaillanti have the vertical bars running the width of the body. It appears that Vaillanti females can vary...

As you say not the best pictures:D but one good way of sexing rams is to look at the black midline blotch, in females there will be small blue scales,inside the blotch these are absent in the males, so that the blotch appears solid black ,also the dorsal fin on the female is a more rounded shape...

One of my favourite fish:) you don't say if you have one or more of these, in my experience it can become slightly aggressive with other similarly shaped fish if kept on it's own, if space allows it's best to keep 3 or 4 together , they will develop a pecking order much like clown loach do. I'am 99% sure You are correct, Elder. Sambucus Nigra has 5 to 7 pairs of pinnate leaflets as opposed to 6 to 12 in Ash , but they do look very similar ;) of course the fruits are very different, ash being winged shape and elder the unmistakable small black berries in clusters
