    JBL E901 flow rate

    JBL E901 flow rate

Tested filter flow rate without media and short hoses, flow rate was around 327 lph. Does that sound right, 36% of the quoted 900lph, was expecting at least 50%. Cheers

    Tropica aquarium soil powder..

It will be iwagumi style, Dragonstone and carpet plants. Was wondering about the 20cm depth, if the small grain size would compact and cause any issues, with only short rooted plants. Thanks

    Tropica aquarium soil powder..

Does anyone forsee any problems using Tropica aquarium soil powder on its own in a 60x50cm aquarium, with a slope up to 20 cm ish? It will be carpet plants only, so no deep roots, will the small grain size likely compact and cause any problems? Any help much appreciated :)

Moler clay vs Tropica aquarium soil..

Is there a difference between fine grain moler clay and Tropica aquarium soil?Other than the obvious colour and moler clay is inert at first. Are they both easy to plant in. Are they heavy enough that the grains don't get blown around and the plants stay put. Will they both hold a slope. If...

    Dirt/soil capped..

Will dirt/soil capped with coarse sand (1-3mm) eventually over time, end up migrating to the top. So you end up with sand capped with dirt/soil? Was thinking about using Tropica plant growth substrate capped with coarse sand (1-3mm) have seen it used on here, but not sure if it will show long...

    Filter/flow..

Cheers, can only find blue coarse(10ppi) foam. Would adding coarse 10ppi foam to lily pipe inlet, reduce flow much?
  18. T

    Carpet without pressurised co2..

Cheers alto. If there is no growth benefit to dirt, will probably try liquid carbon, less potential mess. Regarding capping, I thought the Tropica soil being light would stay on top and not migrate down below dirt. Doesn't sand/gravel being heavier, eventually end up on the bottom with dirt on...

    Filter/flow..

Thanks Ian. Would adding coarse sponge (pre filter) on the lily pipe inlet, restrict the flow too much? Will look to get inlet with lots of slits, i read that should help. Does anyone know where to get black coarse sponge from, to use as pre filter? Thanks Tom

    Carpet without pressurised co2..

    Filter/flow..

Hi, I'm in the planning stage of setting up a Aquascaper 900 and 600, both will be low tech. Just wanted to check if the filter/flow will be okay. Don't really want to use powerheads, so hoping they are powerful enough with lily pipes in low tech. Aquascaper 900 (size 90Lx50Wx45H) - 181...
