What I like to do is to push the pointy ends of a tweezer into the substrate before inserting a Tropica root tab and then gently "massage" the area around the insertion to compact the soil around the tap beneath the carpet. Don´t know if I would call it a technique, but it makes it easier to...

    River/stream Iwagumi - 90P

I found that especially in vitro Buces don't like new setups, probably very sensitive to ammonia burn in that state. Regarding the exact species, Aquaflora is not able to confirm that its in fact the '2011' variant. They will try and analyze it though. Any shops claiming it is 2011 are doing so...

I usually advise against using someone else's 'bubbles per minute' as a precise reference. It may vary largely depending on bubble counters and diffusers. New setup advice

I usually start with 6 hours and then add an extra 20 min for each week that passes, until reaching a total of 8 hour photoperiod. As for dosing, I usually wait two weeks before I start when using nutrient rich soil. If you're using ADA ferts I would just stick with Mineral and Neutral K.

    New setup advice

Light wont be your limiting factor in terms of plant selection and growth patterns/coloration if you choose the Solar. I would stick with the recommended hanging height of 30 cm from surface, the light spillage is pretty intense, shade attachments are pretty much a must if tank is placed near a...
  56. Shinobi

    New setup advice

Fits perfectly on a 60, certainly a high light option where the Aquasky is more of a medium-low light option. The 'dangers' of high light is in my opinion highly exaggerated. Do your water changes, chose a good substrate so you can do a leaner water column dosing and you're good. You go lazy on...

    ADA 90P - "Low Roar"

    River/stream Iwagumi - 90P

Thanks a lot! :D Light is placed aprox 30 cm from surface as recommended. Lower plant mass means lower nutrient uptake, so I just plan on compensate with as many initial water changes as need be and a very lean dosing schedule. I'm thinking 1ml a day of Trolica Specialized should suffice :)
