Wow, that looks great. What are the tank dimensions?

    Nano Cube 30l

I did a bit of searching on crypts going brown and it looks like its not uncommon. It has to do with amount of light, water conditions, co2 etc. Crypts on the right side are under the light and in the main flow an they have much bigger leaves and more brown leaves. Cryps on the left are shaded...

Looks like you are ready to start scaping. Or do you still miss anything else apart from 60F?

    Algae with EI dosing

I think your filter doesn't have enough strength to deliver nutrients and co2 in all parts of your tank. With high energy tank you should be aiming at turnover rate of 10 so a 2700l/hour. Your filter will run all your water through it at most 3 times per hour and i doubt it is enough. Put the...

    Cliff & Plateau

Looks good but I think you should use bigger stones and odd numbers of them. The tank(glass) itself looks fantastic.

Thanks, that's what I am doing. How often did you trim? Is it ok to wat till it reaches water surface or rather more often?

Make sure to check the weight limit of the cabinet. This one looks sturdy enough to hold 60f (~50kg)but I was quite surprised when I discovered that some cabinets only have 20kg weight limit. In the end the are made of paper and hey not mdf.

    Nano Cube 30l

Weekly maintenance yesterday, cleansed the filter and hoses as well. trimmed the moss on wood a bit. More crypts leaves turning brown, but I don't think its the crypt disease - no melting, even brown leaves continue to grow. Ideas welcome. I'm dosing Tropica Specialised and Premium, both at...

    Betta Adventures

Beware of buoyancy of polystyrene.rather use more stonnes that will be covered. I'd add some more height, but I'm not sure what your plans are for riparium and if you plan to fill the tank with water completly.

    That looks much better already.

    Hanging Rock - 45p Iwagumi

I think adding few small rocks would more natural. Something like pic 4 or 5 in your first post. Also the substrate and the rock end are alligned which looks odd to me. But hey, if you like it like this go for it.

    "Slow Roast" Rio 125

I just wanted to know how you plan to do it. I was recently thinking that chihiros light would be a good option for juwel tanks and now I see I'm not the only one:)

    "Slow Roast" Rio 125

Do you plan to use chihiros light under the cover from Juwel or will you remove the cover?

    Nano Cube 30l

Thanks Silviu. My water is hard. Based on data from water supplier it's 15 °dH so that shouldn't be a problem, I guess. I'm dosing Tropica Specialized/Premium, alternating them on daily basis. I'll do a bit of research on the disease you mentioned.

    My current tanks(pic heavy)

Last one looks the best. Second one would look better with less floating plants.

I noticed some leaves of Cryptocoryne wendtii green are going brown. Older leave as well as small fresh ones. See pics. Is this normal or some kind of deficiency? Thanks for any hints.

    Nano tank recommendations

Hi you have plenty of possibilities - depends on what scape you plan and what dimension can you accommodate. I have Dennerle Nano Cube 30l and I like it, thought I struggle to use the height potential - it's 35cm tall. Have a look at Ada 60f - same volume but very different dimensions and very...

    3ft shallow scape

I really like shallow tanks and this one is looking really good. Much better with the sand imho. As for fish how about pygmy corys and a shoal of ember tetras or rasbora hengli? I think smaller fish would look better in this scape.

    Nano Cube 30l

There's definitely not enough space HOB filter when using the glass cover. There's only few millimeters on each side, barely enough to put CO2 tubing in. I use external filter and I had to move the cover to the front, so it's overhanging the front of the tank by about 1-1.5cm. I never used a HOB...

    Nano Cube 30l

Thanks. No the background is not permanent, it's a static foil. I previously had a black background and wanted a change and I currently like it like this. One of advantages is that CO2 bubbles are not visible as much as they were against black background.

    Nano Cube 30l

I did a weekly water change today, not much to talk about, everything going nice and steady. Here's a photo of this week.

    Synergy - 180L tall tank.

really nice, I like it's messy look - messy in positive sense - different rock and pebbles and their position look very natural

Forgot to mention that Valisneria nana is starting to show some growth. Old leave are gone, I cut some remaining leaves as they were dying anyway but there are already 5 or 6 new plants growing. I was already thinking about replacement plant but so far patience has won:)

    Nano Cube 30l

Weekly maintenance and trimming rotala heavily, as longest stems were almost at the front glass. Also trimmed christmas moss on the wood. This is how it looks now. Forgot to take picture before trimming:(

    Nano Cube 30l

I use Dennerle spray bar simply for convenience - I didn't want spraybar above rotala cause it would push it forward and in previos version of this tank I had problems with flow breaking the plants or pulling them from substrate(without a spraybar though). So by using Dennerle spraybar I didn't...

    Nigel's Iwagumi 128L

It looks a bit artificial with clear straight horizontal border between monte carlo and grass and almost straight line at the back. It's further strenghtened by how border between lit and ulnlit areas in the background. Let's see how it looks a bit more matured.

Have a look at Escarpment aquascape by The Green Machine. I like the later version of it without the wood even more. Looking forward to seeing what you'll create.

I think you can't go wrong with Hoya. I have one myself and had no issues. I also had smaller diameter Hama polarizing filter and it was ok as well.
  34. Juraj C.

    Cliff & Plateau

Looks great. One suggestion for photography - get a polarizing filter to get rid of reflections on the tank.

    Nano NatureScape

It looks great already, looking forward to seeing it more mature. Looks so much different when planted, I had to check back to see if it's the same hardscape as you presented here earlier ;)

    Nigel's Iwagumi 128L

Those 2 stone right of main stones - try to stand them on shorter side, lean them in the same way as the main stone or a bit more so the are parallel with main stone or leaning a bit more to the right. This way the bigger of those 2 rocks would look like it has chipped off of main stone. I'd put...

    Nigel's Iwagumi 128L

I think that the circle of stones around main stones looks a bit unnatural, it looks like a sundial. Maybe try to align their direction with main stone

Weekly water change and cleanup. Cut the longest rotala stems.

Thanks. So far it looks like there are no dead spots, I can see CO2 floating everywhere but let's see what happens when grown in.

    Hi

Thanks. The only thing I didn't like on the high tech setup was not enough space in the back of the tank so I had to put pogostemon erectus and then also ludwigia sp. in front and on the side. growing pogostemon erectus under filter outlet got it either broken or uprooted.

    Nano Cube 30l

Hi few weeks ago I decided to completely rework my tank and try something new. Previous versions of this tank can be seen in my introduction post. The idea was to create a nice tank which doesn't require too much maintenance. It's not really a low tech because I'm injecting CO2 and add some...

    Hi

Hi everyone I have been reading through this great site for couple of years and finally decided to join. I have started with aquaristic 7 or 8 years ago with 10l fish bowl then bought a 30l Dennerle NanoCube which I still have today. Went from low tech to high tech, then back to low tech etc...
