    Suggestions on plants please

Don’t mind the shade as I’ll only have some bucephalandra underneath it, do you think I should do the whole stretch of wood with tripartita or just pick and choose 2/3 areas? Hmm, shall I swap the pinatifida and the Bolbitis on the right? Meaning the Pinatifida now goes towards the centre...

    Suggestions on plants please

Hi all, getting back into the hobby. Wood is soaking for now while I plan my plants (epiphyte only) and waiting for the presence of wood fungus (can I start planting epiphytes on the fungus?) Here’s my initial idea for plants, with the trident fern being the main focal point. Any idea what I...

    What type of lily pipe?

I’ve managed to get my skimmer to work on 600lph. But requires some fiddling with the air in the “hat” and breaking of surface tension

    Oase thermo 250 (900lph) overkill?

I have a small pump head at 400lph which seems to do most of the water movement now. Seems to help a bit but the filter floss I use as a guard for it gets clogged too easily and requires cleaning every 3 weeks.

    Oase thermo 250 (900lph) overkill?

Hi, thinking of upgrading my filter from an Eheim Ecco Pro 200 (600lph) to an oase biomaster thermo 250 (900lph) Would this be overkill on my 64L tank? It’s a 60P. Thinking of upgrading as I’m experiencing dead spots in the centre of my tank where the wood is, which has led to stag horn and...

    Glass surface skimmer issue!

I feel like I should post an update. Managed to get it to work properly without having to tinker with the amount of air in the hat. Problem was I had a 10mm outflow lilypipe sent to me in error and that limited the amount of water going out and hence the amount being pulled in. Once I got the...

    Fungus on drop checker

    BBA or wood fungus?

Flooded about 3 weeks ago. I thought BBA was meant to be quite sticky on the surfaces that it grows on? If it helps I did sweep the patch in the first photo yesterday night and watch an orange shrimp latch onto it and gobble it up. It’s spider/azalea/redmoor wood.

    BBA or wood fungus?

Hi, just noticed what looks like BBA on my wood but I’m not sure? Not the best phone pics below as well Using my finger and giving it a brush with minor force it just lifts off the wood. BBA is meant to be really “sticky” and shouldn’t come off that easily right? Thus it just being some...

How many cardinal/green neon/b. Briggatae in an ADA 60P?

Yeah I figured it’s more transport and stress related. No dead bodies around when I had a quick look this morning before popping into work so things are looking good. Don’t think I’ll be able to bring livestock back as I’m on a flight and there’s water limits. Dont have check in luggage either
  24. L

Critique my hardscape Low tech Do!Aqua 60P

Ah right. The back left end gets good circulation from the filter but it’s the right back end and underneath the lilypipe that gets bad flow. So the way the pump blows now circulates water to both those ends

Bit the bullet and added some otos and Amano Shrimp last night. 3 otos and all amanos started grazing almost immediately. 1 too however, stayed near the bottom of the tank the entire night but is now attached to the driftwood with the others, although looking thin and lethargic still. I have...

How many cardinal/green neon/b. Briggatae in an ADA 60P?

Thinking either 12 green neons and 12 chilli rasboras as I’ve heard they occupy different levels in the tank. Either that or 20 green neons. Has my water tested by LFS and still showing some ammonia and nitrite, could possibly be due to Ada Amazonia leaching ammonia though.
