I think I saw those fish in the Aquatic Design Centre in London the other day, or some very similar. I'd never seen them before in person and they did catch my eye.

Glad things are looking better now! I'd keep a careful eye on ammonia and nitrite readings still, to make sure they're at safe levels. Had you made any changes to the tank recently, like adding any new fish maybe?

I'd test your tank water to see if anything's going on. It sounds like you could have suffered from some kind of ammonia or nitrite spike, possibly?
