    That's a real shame. George's video mentions him using a 10 metre hose. Are you trying to pump from upstairs to downstairs or are the tank and water source on the same level? I think George uses some sort of clip to fasten the hose. Maybe your fit isn't tight enough?

    @Deano3 I've usually spotted 5 or 6 shrimplets at a time at best. Then I'd probably see 2 or 3 added to the colony over a few weeks. Your fish stock is tetra and they're not going to be all that interested in them that much I would guess.

    Just an update. Mounted 2 metres of strip to the front and rear of the shelf over my soon to be aquarium stand. Lights are set to perform a day night cycle and I'll supplement photo period with the Twinstar leds I have on the tanks as well. Hopefully it will work out.

    @dw1305 there is also a Biohome gravel ,much smaller pebbles of scintered glass about 2 - 7mm in diameter mostly, just for info. I know Richard has been involved in the development of the product and that the shape is a conscious choice as you suggest.

    @Deano3 I know it's not aesthetically great but I do think that a piece of course foam over your inlet is probably a very simple and effective means of performing that first step mechanical filtration. May also save a few Shrimplets or fish fry if you get any babies!

    I reduced dosing to 2.5ml of each and have gone up to 5ml today. Will stick with 5ml for a few days and go up 7.5. The instructions recommend 10ml for a 50l tank but I've read this is for high tech tanks. Will up the dose slowly to something towards recommended levels and see how it goes.
