    Carnivorous Paludarium 20l

It is growing in so well, added a 12W zetlight on top of the 15W LED bar I had, should see even more growth and better colour Also, optiwhite is a pain to keep clean!

    Carnivorous Paludarium 20l

Hi all. Decided to hop back into a little scaping experimenting with this 20l carnivorous terrarium/paludarium whatever. Took a crab aqua optiwhite and built a landmass using lava rock and borehole rocks (no idea what type it is, but inert), adding a peat/sand mix for substrate. I added the...

Any tips for keeping in-vitro/1-2-grow plants fresh in the pot?

Tissue culture pots benefit from stable temperatures - keeps air pressure differences from sucking nasties into the container. Just a thing to keep in mind

    Tissue culture success!

So that was a dud, the containers were not up to the autoclave and allowed air in, contamination ensues. 3 months of overheated grow room fried most of my plants. I did get 10 micro swords out which I replated into jars and appear to be doing well. I have tried some hygros, ludwigia, H'ra...

    Tissue culture success!

Agar, sugar, and some nutrients Autoclave, laminar flow hood, and lots of alcohol! Getting clean cultures is tricky! Thanks! This batch was mostly a failure due to how I set up the process, cups deformed and pulled air in as they returned to shape, leading to contamination. I have been given a...

    Wabi-Kusa experiment

I have a tank that I sort of leave alone, tonnes of algae and whatever. But as the water level slowly dropped my long (20-30cm) java fern leaves were left in air, they look waxier and generally healthy, along with anubias that is the same. Its roots are still in water. The treasure for this...

I just took the smallest bunch and divided into 22 new ones, I want to get some plastic containers that I can sell them with. Yes with a dual stage regulator and solenoid (Max aqua). I think it has been running from almost 2 years now? Looking closer it's more like 0.8 BPS

Slowtech - My take on the planted tank

Yeah the moderate lighting definitely helps! My tap water is very soft so doubt it has much of value In terms of Co2 I run 1bps on a 60l with a pretty standard diffuser. I don't have an indicator so no idea what the levels are :)

Slowtech - My take on the planted tank

Hi all! I have noticed in my limited time researching aquascaping that high tech and low tech are the predominant thought camps when it comes to aquascaping/planted tanks. I have a tank that's currently sitting somewhere in the middle. Initially a full on aquascape, it has sort of descended...
