    Neo_ad's 350Ltr Journal (Prometheus)

This has got to be the most depressing thing I have ever seen, its been nearly 6 months since I have posted on my first planted tank journal! So just a small update on what has happened since then! Last thing I said on my journal was that I had purchased a cheap job lot of plants (the...

    tims 20g clearseal tank :)

I had the exact same issues with the Fire Extinguisher until I relasied it is no diffrent than paying £££ for the real thing only to find out it works exactly the same :) As long as you take your time, make sure the connections are tight its a piece of cake.

    Few questions about C02

I removed the bioballs (still have them) and changed them to the ones you can see in the picture as they are supposed to be better :) when I take a look at the reactor I might swap them back to the bioballs.

    Few questions about C02

Hi Dan unfortunately I don't own a diffuser, I opted for reactor as I had such a large tank. I might strip down the reactor and take another look at it (guh) You can see my reactor here (sort of) I was thinking of maybe putting the plastic tube more into the centre of the cylinder as at the...

    Few questions about C02

Full details on my tank and equipment are located here viewtopic.php?f=35&t=6193 if you should need them. I am using an external Aquamedic 1000 reactor with Fire Extinguisher 1, I can get the bubble checker set to something like 1 bubble per second and 95% of the time it comes out as really...

    Neo_ad's 350Ltr Journal (Prometheus)

Big update! Right first thing is first I have been getting overly obsessive with getting my aquascape correct first time, so in a change of tactics I have re arranged it again to something I like (it might be wrong/right/better) but I can change it again later once I get better. (its also an...

    facebook

Could I make a suggestion, it would serve UKAPS better I think if you created a "page" on facebook and not a group. Its free works the same way but with a few added advantages, users will become fans which sounds better and spreads out via "friends you may know" Also the main reason, if you...

Thanks both of you for the advice, I am going get some cheaper ones to begin with. I can always add in some Tropica specimens as the tank progresses too. Grab yourself a spare bucket/plastic storage container fill with water from the tank and move fish into that. Your only going to be an hour or so just make sure your ready. Cherry Barb, Celestial Pearl and Glowlight Danio, Boras Brig

I own some cherry barbs myself and I think they look really nice, when you first get them young the colours are quite dull but feed them up with some specialised colour flakes every now and again and they become amazing to look at. When I show friends they always pick out my cherry first even...

Getting more rocks is not a problem I just held off when collecting my equipment together :) I keep forgetting how big this tank is! I was thinking maybe getting a rock double the size of the largest one so there would be a cluster of 3 on the right hand Not shown in the picture above I was...

    Neo_ad's 350Ltr Journal (Prometheus)

I haven't got any more rock I held of buying it in case it was too much, I will probably buy another decent sized piece to bring the total to 3. I will mock some rock placements tonight and draw in a 3rd piece to get an idea of what piece to look for. Not sure if I should go for a larger piece...

    Stopped Eating

.25 is still too high in all honestly, what are your Nitrite levels at the moment? If your ammonia and nitrite is over zero I suggest daily water changes until they are both zero. (this may take some time) Did you do a fish less cycle out of interest?

Cherry Shrimp gone in to hiding

I don't know how true this is but I did read somewhere that Cherry Shrimp tend to hide when in low numbers the more of them you have the more safer they feel so tend to come out more. When I added 10 I never saw them hardly, I added another 10 now I see all 20 quite often. Strength in numbers I...

Hi thanks again for answering another of my topics :) I have purchased my sand already but not to worry I only spent 20 squid on 8 bags not the end of the world, I really would like some sand in the scape so I think I will make an area for the sand instead. Got a couple of aquascape books on...

    Wet&Dry Filter

Thanks for the reply I guessed as much I think I might run it on my fish only tank and run dual Eheim 2028's instead, not sure how happy I would feel about uping the Co2 over the recommend to keep it compensated. I will play it safe, thanks for the advice.

    Wet&Dry Filter

Hi there I have read through the posts and topics on here and on other web sites that say a wet & dry filter shouldn't be used in a high-tech planted tank but this seems to be 50/50 on the subject. I have a brand new wet and dry filter available to me which I was planing to run along side a...
