    Green/brown algae on hard scape

Oh for sure I didn't ever think it would do I just thought I would check in the tanks early days incase I've got something wrong. This is my second ever planted tank and the one before was carpeted in the foreground so I only had wood and rocks as visible hardscape.

    Green/brown algae on hard scape

Thank you. I don't mind it on the rocks and like you said it looks natural just annoying on the sand but I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and let it run its course.

I've tryed to look up what kind it is but I'm not sure what one it is and if it's just because it's and new tank (5 1/2 weeks old). Can anyone help or spot something I've...

Really appreciate your help. I'm currently trying to sort a smaller tank to put it in. Worried about a new filter not being cycled. What would you recommend I treat the fish with?

    Embra tetras

The tank has been set up since the start of December from new. All 20 tetras went in the first weekend of February and they was the last thing added. The shrimp in stages a few weeks before the fish but all from the same shop. My maintenance is 60-70% water change every Friday with a light...

I've had the drop checker down by the plants a couple of weeks ago and it was reading the same as higher up. I was moving it in different locations to see if there was any dead spots

    Embra tetras

Evening all. I have 20 embra tetras in my tank with amarno shrimp and red cherry shrimp but noticed today that one of the tetras has a tail missing. Is it heard of that another tetra could be tail nipping it or could it be a illness?

I don't think I did, maybe a couple of leaves but not much if it did.

    My first 120l tank

Could it be that simple. At the start of the week I dropped the daily dosing to try and address the algae build up I've been getting so I assumed it was due to that and was planning to up it to between the previous amount and the amount I've been doing this week.

    My first 120l tank

A bit of a update. Plant growth seems to be good but I still get a build up of brown and green algae on the hard scape which seems to take about 3 hours to carry out my weekly maintenance due to scrubbing as much off as I can and doing 70% water changes. I'm not to sure if its every possible to...

    125L - The Re-Scape

Oh that is a shame and I'm sorry to hear that. I've only had my tank for a little over two months and have loved it and hated it. I hope you manage to turn things around and get to see some updates soon. May I please ask you a question. You was dosing TNC complete daily and injecting Co2 but at...

    Diatoms and green algae

I started dosing 3ml each day from monday and my cryptocoryne is suffering. Only thing that's changed is the dosing. Could this be due to not enough TNC complete? Sorry for the questions I'm starting to think im biting off more then I can chew. Can you please help

    Diatoms and green algae

Thank you for your help. I'll drop it down to 3ml per day with about 70% water changes per week. I am injecting CO2 as well

    Diatoms and green algae

So with my 120 litre tank would you say 5ml per day would be recommended based on manufacturer's instructions at 3 times the dose? I do 70% water changes once a week

    Diatoms and green algae

Juwell internal and a eheim 350 skimmer. I'm getting good flow around the tank with all plants moving nicely and good co2 circulation.

    Diatoms and green algae

Hi all. I have a 120l tank running co2 injection and I'd say medium lighting ( 2x T5 12w led bulbs). Dosing 10ml of TNC complete daily and 2mg of TNC carbon daily. Lights on time for 7hours a day and co2 is light green. I have diatoms on all my hard scape and a few days before I'm due to carry...

    My first 120l tank

Hi all. I'm still very new to this but I'm reading alot on here and picking up things slowly. For years I've loved the idea of having a very well maintained heavily planted tank and at the start of December I took the plunge and started my first tank. Luckily Aquarium Gardens is pretty close to...

    3 week tank

So it's nothing to worry about? The guideline form the shop is week 1-2 water change every two day. on week 3 do water changes every 3day and on week 4 every 4 days. Should I stick to doing water changes every other day while this is happening or should I follow the guidelines I've been given...

    3 week tank

Hello all. I could really do with some advise. I have a 120l tank which is heavily planted. The lighting is dual T5 bulbs 12w each, one is 9000k and the other is 6500k which came with the tank. I'm using CO2 injection with CO2 art regulator and defuser. CO2 comes on 2 hours before the lights...

    Tank circulation help

@Andrew Butler I contacted juwell to see what will be a direct change over and yes the ecoflow 1000 will fit but they don't recommend i use one in my size tank. I think I'll stick with what I have and see about adding a spray bar or a nano circulation pump once there is water in there and I can...

    Tank circulation help

@Andrew Butler I really appreciate your help. Fortunately this is my first tank so I'm really trying to cover all basis before I add and plants/fish. Tank circulation help

I have a juwell lido 120l tank with the pump that comes with it (500lph according to manufacturer), so am thinking of using a power head in the tank to help circulation. I was looking at the hydor koralia nano 900 and would a combined 1400lph be ok to help circulate when co2 is in use?
  33. A

    Thank you

Wow that is beautiful and congratulations. I'm currently starting out with my first planted tank (lido 120l). Are you using the filter/pump the tank came with.
