Thanks for the help, I'll check my local hardware store for cable ties as they are clearly very cheap and easy to cut off :) I think I'll also look for a special foam to check for gas leaks, I know soapy water can be used but I'll probably get it if it's cheap. Anybody used them?

Thanks, i think i should use those velcro straps but I'm not 100% sure as i haven't come across anyone else using them, they may not be strong enough. Tie wraps have to be disposed each time i think, which is why I was put off gaffa tape. The o-ring idea sounds good though, but i'm just curious...

I got a pico tank and 1 clip on LED light and 1 clip on stronger compact t5 light. I'm not sure which one to use. I can get water from my larger planted tank which will have CO2 but i'm not sure how often i would have to change the water, and what plants I would be able to keep depending on...

thanks, ive had problems with willow moss clogging my filter(not just the intake, the fishing line untangled and the moss went up into the external filter and clogged it), does pellia tend to break off and float about in low tech tanks? Hi, im thinking of a relaible way to stick clado algae onto rocks/wood, i'm making a cave and i'm thinking of buying some clado balls, flattening them out and then sticking areas of them on with sealant. Would the sealant prevent it growing ? thanks

the HITH happened because of poor water quality when i was on holiday, i just didn't want him to get beaten up by the big catfish. The 600l is matured an not new, hes in there now anyway so im just keeping a close eye on him

i think the tank looks really proffessional now, and i agree that moss on the redmoor wood look good but honestly be careful whatever moss it is it can clog you filter and make it spit stuff up, or if not just be a pain by going everywhere :D

thanks,i know abotu those two but the heating element in themofilters seems notorious for breaking or overheating(a few people have said or written about) and id prefer not to see bubbles at it would look unnatural. I might still consider that diffuser as it doesnt really agitate the surface

it was sold as a tiny bulb of nymphaea rubra. It grew into about a 10cm high plant in about 4 months as it was in a low tech tank. It grew a lot faster in this tank. then when i left the people overdosed co2 by a lot and it grew really fast!

tbh id love frogbit, itd be great considerig some of the fish im getting like shade, however they would need considerable aeration as they are big, and i dont want the frogbit zooming around lol

IMO blyxa looks best around rocks or wood. In that space where the echinodorus tenellus is elecocharis would proabably be more suited. :D The main annoying thing about blyxa is that it floats too much but its leaves are ok
