    Shrimp safe powerheads

Hi everyone, Does anyone know of a powerhead pump that is somewhat safe for shrimps (cherry)? Ive noticed thread algae always crops up in the same place and it must be due to low flow. I have a Koralia1 somewhere from back in the day but I never used it for a tank with cherry shrimp. Thanks!

What's the BIGGEST mistake you've made?

Securing moss down onto a rock with a nylon hair net. Later on I found my female Ancistrus plec wrapped up in it. Had to cut her out using tweezers and scissors. She survived! I'll never use a hair net again.

Opinions and help with 80cm 'scape

Hi gang at UKAPS. I'm undertaking my second year at Uni and I've been lucky enough to keep my Rio125 with me in the house I'm residing in. I've just spent the last couple hours arranging the hard scape with fellow UKAPS member, "mitch". Your thoughts on the hardscape position would be...

    Do Nitrates decrease pH

This cropped up (on another forum :shh: ) and people seem certain that nitrates decrease the pH. They say that's why cycles can stall sometimes, so they add bi-carb to buffer the system. Surely this can't be right? I've never heard of nitrates decreasing pH. My thoughts on the matter... (this...

Koralia 1 position in Rio125 with pic

Hey. Very soon a koralia 1 should be arriving and it would be great to hear where people think it should go. Where ever the koralia goes, a diffuser shall be placed underneath so that the bubbles are shot out by it. Hence finding the best position in which CO2 circulation is most efficient is...

    24/7 photoperiod hurt?

I was asked this question today by a costumer and didn't quite know the answer.
