    Gluing Rocks

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Found somebody from work that has an angle grinder with a stone cutting disk. They are going to cut it, evening up the bottom. Hopefully it should be stable enough then! If not may try fixing to another rock using some aquatic safe epoxy resin, possible the JBL...

    Volume of substrate required?

Just underestimated with a new setup. Fortunately my local supplier is quite competitive, matching online prices and retaining the price when ordering the balance required. When carriage costs have to be considered, I feel it is best to be slightly conservative with estimations.

    Gluing Rocks

Thanks for the suggestions. My greatest fear is the rock falling over and hitting the glass. I may go 'belt and braces,' drilling it, using a stainless rod, also using silicon or super glue. Another thing I thought about was trying to get the base cut so that it is level. This would add to the...

    Gluing Rocks

Just obtained some nice pieces of Seiryu rock. The one piece I would like to use as a tall structure will not quite stand as its based is not perfectly level. I was wondering if I could fix a piece of rock to it to make its base more stable. Does anybody know if there a 'glue' (or alternative...

    Zebra Danio Bleaching

Not me, them! Here's something I stumbled across today: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8078525.stm Apparently the humble Zebra Danio releases a burst of hydrogen peroxide following tissue damage. They also have similar genes to us.- I didn't know that

    flora-grow nutri pus?

Have a container of this, but without any instructions. What sort of depth is required on the bottom of the tank? Also, does anybody know if it changes the chemistry of the water? Thanks, Ian

    What do you feed Corydoras?

I tend to vary their food, Tetra TabiMin (broken into smaller portions), Tetra Prima, soaked flake and occasionally frozen bloodworm. Even though Corydoras are scavengers, it good to ensure they receive enough food. This can be a problem when most of the food is eaten before it reaches the...

    New challenges...

This sounds like a really interesting and challenging series George. I am sure this is an area of aquascaping that could be expanded greatly, not only from the aesthetic perspective, but also from the greater understanding of fish species, their natural habitats and general welfare. How many...
