I would say CO2 for the reason being mine grew small and shrivelled without any injected into the tank, then a week or two after i started dosing ferts and CO2 it doubled in size height and width, with the leaves being stunningly vibrant colour. They look almost leathery :)

Sounds to me like your leaf tips that are browning are basically being over-exposed to light in your tank. This is a common problem with any of the Microsorum's. It certainly explains why your shaded leaves arent affected. Either lower your light, or if you can't do this due to other plants...
