    Own brand or separate?

Hi Guys, after many months of pondering i think I'm finally ready to try and get an aquaopti tank I want to go low tech as the kids will be involved so I know lights are not overly important. The aqua ones are black so don't like them. Any ideas for a nice reliable looking led bar to sit on the...

I think I know the answer to my new tank question but...

I'm coming back to the planted fold and just need the voices of reason to confirm what I think i already know. I love the look of the Aquaone Aquanano 80/130 with the built in filter, light etc for convenience for a low tech setup. So about 130L ish However, in the loft I have the equipment...

    Ex1200s still any good?

Thanks Madhav, Only thing that I've replaced is the taps as one broke when unscrewing it to remove the hose. Just wanted to know it's worth keeping and perhaps passing on as I can't see a near future with a tank yet Cheers, Jez

    Ex1200s still any good?

Hi guys, Was just wondering after having to close down my setup if the Tetratec ex1200s are still any good. Worked well for me but don't know if things have moved on now and worth keeping? Cheers Jez

    Water butt dosing?

Aye, you are right about the watering can dosing. Just felt like being lazy and running the hose from the butts to the plants. Thanks for all your ideas fellas

    Water butt dosing?

Thanks Stu and fair enough, but I was a little misleading. My water butts are actually barrels plumbed into the gutter so no access to chuck stuff in apart from the breather hole so thought about using salts as a cheaper option to liquid fertiliser. Wacky I know but just reviewing my options.

    Water butt dosing?

Hello guys and here goes. My tank has been shut down due to a house move and being in the conservatory. I could not keep in top of the algae and maintenance so seemed wrong maintaining an algae farm! My odd question is about dosing my 3x200 litre water butts which used to be filled from the...

FE setup - where am I going wrong?

If it only leaks when the reg is on and handles released it is the residule pressure held in the reg leaking back through the plunger assy that the handle pushes on. If it doesn't leak when handles are held together all is fine. It doesn't do it with the horn connected as all the pressure...

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

My old post from a previous thread Mine was leaking in June 2008 after a filter clean. I found the water was filling up the void between the plastic case of the head and the head itself and manifested as a leak from the latch. If you look really closely you should be able to tell if it is the...

Mine was leaking in June 2008 after a filter clean. I found the water was filling up the void between the plastic case of the head and the head itself and manifested as a leak from the latch. If you look really closely you should be able to tell if it is the main pump head seal or not. If the...

    T8 LED

Hi moez The only problem I can see with them is the colour temperature of 15000K plus. Daylight is 6500K and I know some people go a little higher 8000K for example for colour rendition. Not sure how much useful wavelength there will be at 15000K

    Tetratec EX 1200 filter

If it's not your main canister seal then it will be one of the 6 seals in the adaptor unit. I had to take mine apart and change a seal some weekends ago just to get me through till Tetra could send another one under warranty. I've asked if perhaps they could do a seal kit for the adaptor unit...

have i set my FE up right?

my reg turned up today too. My bubble counter was a pain to screw on the needle valve almost like a had to recut the threads, and yes it sits the same way as yours. anyway on the box it says the bubble counter has a check valve built in. I need a new plud adapter as my old solenoid has a...
