    Glare from LED lighting?

I've used an ADA Aquasky on my 60P and the light is bright, especially if you are sitting below it. Try and visit your LFS, if they have LED fixtures setup you can decide for yourself. Sent from my D5503 using Tapatalk

    ADA 60P

This was my very own slice of nature in Dubai. Quite a contrast to the sandy landscape of the middle east. This was the final shot before tearing down to relocate back to the UK, only wish I had more time to allow the stem plants to flourish. Looking forward to a new set-up when I get back.

Anyone want to buy algae by the bucket load! PROBLEMS! HELP!

Re: Anyone want to buy algae by the bucket load! PROBLEMS! H When do you perform your water changes? I find it helps either doing water changes before or after the Co2/Lights come on or after the lights have gone off. This will help prevent fluctuations with the Co2 levels during the photo period.

    Fert Dosing & Carbon Filters.

Carbon filtration is normally used during the initial set-up. At this stage the plant mass is normally fairly small and until new growth begins and the plant mass increases the absorption capacity is limited. Excess nutrients (that can leach from some substrates) and Tannins (from driftwood) can...

    Snails.... How good are they?

That's very interesting, I've been looking at the Snailshop.co.uk and they recommend 1 per 1.5gal that would equal 15 based on a 30 gal tank....? Rob

    Snails.... How good are they?

I'm thinking of getting some Tiger Nerite snails for a new tank. I currently have Amano shimps as part of my algae crew so I'm very keen to understand just how good these snails are at dealing with algae... Are they as good as shrimps? Also what stocking levels do you recommend? Tank...

Diffusing directly into the filter inlet

All at UKAPS, I have read many posts relating to placement of a Co2 diffuser directly underneath the filter inlet. I'm about to invest in an Eheim 2075 and am concerned that if I use this method I might wreck it! Has anyone ever had any issues with their filters using this method in diffusion...

    Fluval Osaka Aquariums

Dan, Was there room to suspened the additional light unit from the frame alongside the other light unit? I'm toying with the idea of buying the Osaka 155L but I'm not convinced the T5's supplied provide sufficient light, total 2 x 24W? Light required = 34 Gal (155L) x 2 = 68 Watts (based on a...

    Ed's Rio 180

Hi Ed, The tank looks superb! Do you have any issues with the wood in your tank? I tried putting some oak branches into my tank once. I stripped all the bark off and cleaned it with a power hose, but after a couple of weeks the wood started to grow a cloudy fungus in certain areas mainly at the...

    Fluctuating CO2 Output

Funny you should mention that.... I have an FE coming this week. If I run out of CO2 what is the drill? I don't really want to go and refill knowing my FE is due to arrive this week.

    Fluctuating CO2 Output

It's definitely not tank water, it's the refill solution supplied by Dennerle, it comes in small pouches and the liquid is blue. Rob

    Fluctuating CO2 Output

Hi Ceg, Via a Dennerle drop checker, the colour is referenced to the indicator strip which comes with the kit: Blue ~5ppm Dark Green ~20ppm Light Green ~40ppm Yellow/Green ~80ppm Yellow - 120ppm Normally the indicator is green which I guess is roughly 30ppm. Rob

    Fluctuating CO2 Output

Hi, I'm currently using a Dennerle 500g refillable cylinder and classic regulator for about a month now with no problems what so ever. However yesterday morning I noticed that the fish were gasping at the surface! Upon checking my drop checker the CO2 levels were off the scale (120ppm) :shock...

    Rhinox 2000 Diffuser

nry, Thanks. I did try increasing the bubble rate to over a bubble per second which did have an effect on the number of streams dispersing from the plate, but that seemed to me to be a waste of Co2. I'm going to relocate the diffuser directly underneath the filter intake to maximise absorption...

    Rhinox 2000 Diffuser

I have recently aquired a RHINOX 2000 Diffuser and installed it today. However I have noticed that the Co2 is not diffusing consistantly accross the ceramic plate! . I was wondering if I have a duff diffuser? Should I be concerned that the bubbles aren't diffusing as they should? My bubble rate...
