    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

I have been thinking the same. I have two little patches of Riccia Fluitan growing nicely at the moment so I think I will use the cuttings to propagate and have a bigger area covered with that. I might give some blyxia japonica a slot once my CO2 setup is running again. Also I got lots rocks...

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

No photos today again, Just a quick word to say that I have been battling a little green spot algae. The Regulator I bought from ebay had to go back to Taiwan and I will hopefully get a replacement promptly enough. Until then it's back to EasyCarbo. I've also replace my very noisy eheim 2213...

    2.7 litre Pico challenge

They both look excellent! I'm looking forward to see what your choice of plants will be. I'm guessing some carefully arranged mosses like Xmas moss could be interesting? I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread!

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

Thanks for the kind words guys. I've nearly gone down the FE route. The reg I had broke after two days so I have been dosing EasyCarbo again. No new photos, but I intend Putting some Blyxia Japonica and maybe some shorter grass type carpet plant. I'm still very pleased with the look of the tank...

    Is my regulator broken?

It was still showing 800psi The fact that the low pressure gauge is reading off the scale when there is no pressure makes me think that a lot of pressure went through it, too much for it to handle. Which make me think that there must have been a malfunction before the low pressure gauge. I...

    Is my regulator broken?

I got the system setup a few days ago: 2 Kg FE Azoo pressure regulator/ senoloid / needle valve It has been working fine. Today Co2 came on as normal and all was going well. The high pressure gauge read 750 psi and the low pressure reg 40 psi. I was out for about an hour, came back, no CO2...

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

Well the glosso didn't like it in there. Everything else is doing fine. The Christmas moss continues to be doing well, and I also have found a couple of other mosses growing with it. The Cherry shrimp are doing excellent, lots a little ones running about. I have added 2 CRS last night, they have...

    Ebay Regulators

sorry for digging an oldish thread. just went ahead and purchased one of those. I suppose I should have checked first, but are they compatible with FE?

    Mosses

Darrel I'm not an expert but the first one looks like Xmas moss. Mine attaches to wood and stone very firmly and propagates quickly. I use EasyCarbo. I have some in a jar next to the aquarium, ambient temperature and seems to survive (4 weeks now). So the OP: XMass moss is a good for attaching...

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

Well, not much new, the glosso doesn't seem happy, but the Xmas moss is thriving.Thinking about more mosses, maybe as carpet. The big news though is that I have spotted a baby shrimp! It's only cherry shrimp and they breed easily but still, chuffed I was able to give them a nice enough...

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

Thanks all for your comments and encouragements, I'm liking the tank more everyday. The moss is still growing fast, and everyone in the tank seems happy. Julia: I was lucky, the wood arrangement was simple, I shoved it in anyway it would get in and I was quite please with the result :D I...

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

Quick update. I moved the stones a bit and bent the offending root out of the way. The glosso is looking better, at least to my eye, especially since I opened a new bottle of Easycarbo, does the stuff go off after a while? The moss is doing great too. For some reason the water looks a little...

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

Thanks all for your kind words. Baron von bubba and Hydrophyte: Now that you mention it this part of the root system, the vertical stick, does seem out of place. I wonder how I hadn't registered it until now! I will have to do something about it at the next water change. I'll probably try to...

    French tony's 60 cm tank.3

Hi all I am relatively new here although I have been lurking a while. The following is my attempt at aquascaping. The tank was given to me a long time ago by a friend and was first home to a couple of fancy goldfish. After moving in my present house 3 years ago I decided to go tropical and very...

Once upon a time at the riverbank - Final update

Re: Once upon a time at the riverbank 125Ltr I love this tank. It's one of my favourite I have to say. Great effort. The lighting rig Looks great too. I'd love to have the whole right to left through the day effect. Excellent job!

    possible problem with eheim 2213

Indeed there is a magnet on the rotor. The part I refer to is a metal "blade" which runs the length of the impeller cavity. I suspect this the part which excites the magnets and makes it rotate. It looks like I will need a new (canister) head.

    possible problem with eheim 2213

Hi all Recently I have noticed a reduction in flow rate from my trusty eheim classic 2213. I have changed the inlet and outlet lines as they were getting a little manky and rinsed the filter media thoroughly with aquarium water. However I am not getting the flow I used to get. Upon close...

    Whats the ultimate shoaling fish?

I'm in the same position, 60l tank recently rescaped and I have been looking in the nano fish direction too. I Have already acquired 6 ember tetra http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/e_Hyphessobrycon_amandae.php. They are lovely little fish. They are lively, tend to schoal quite well. I will be...

    modifying Arcadia T8 OTL

That's really helpful. It is 20 USG. I have just set up the tank, albeit with a mature filter (eheim 2213) so I'm hoping flow and filtration will be ok. As the tank as just been set up, plant growth is slow but I'm hoping it will improve quite quickly. If it doesn't I'll look at going down the...

    modifying Arcadia T8 OTL

ceg4048: I should have been more precise. Dimensions are in centimetre, so that's 24"x12"x15" in old money. I was thinking skimmer would help with the surface biofilm, which I am guessing (maybe wrongly) impedes light penetration in the water? Yes indeed. I don't really want to go down the...

    modifying Arcadia T8 OTL

Hi all, I've been enjoying the forum for a few days and I'd like to ask your opinion / possible experience on the mod I am thinking about. I have a 60 x 30 x 35 planted tank (just started) and I am not really satisfied with my T8 OTL which delivers just 30W in total. In order to make the most...
