I have the Hydor NRG CO2 system (the one without the gauges) and was wondering whether there was a cheap option or an adapter for the CO2 bottles. I'll be using it in a 320l tank so the small bottles aren't financially viable. :thumbdown:

Well,I've been doing some searching on here. What a waste of £15 of plants and about a £5 worth of Easycarbo! Email going to them today.

You are kidding me! Well that is utter sh*te. I'll be writing to them to get some recompense if that is true.

I planted 25 plants each about 10" long into Caribsea Planted Aquarium. Dosing with TPN+ ans Easycarbo. Planted them on last Wednesday and they have collapsed and are starting to turn to mush. :cry: Any ideas?

I'll be running two external filters in my new setup, a Fluval 405 and a 205. I was wondering wether it would be good to diffuse CO2 into the inlet of the 205 (my secondary filter) to try and get 100% absorbtion of the CO2. The affect on the cultures in the filter doesn't bother me as I'll...

Looks like we posted together, woops. :mrgreen: I'd love to use Aquasoil as I've found it easy to use so far. The trouble is that I will be covering an area of 4ftx2ft with the substrate and it should be about 4 inches deep I think. That would probably be about £120 of aqua soil. :thumbdown:

It wouldn't do any harm in fishlessly cycling the tank before you put the substrate in. :thumbup: The majority of nitrifying bacteria live in the filter media so if the tank (and filter) are fully cycled you won't have any issues. Well done for going down the fishless cycle route. :clap...

Ok, day 2. Just added some taller plants, I think they are Eleocharis acicularis, can anyone be more accurate? Shrimp went in too, not sure on species but not Amano as they have been breeding readily.

Ok, so no to HC. It will be low tech (compared to my biotopes). Trickle filter, low light, no CO2 and some Aqua Soil. WIth 1 type of plant and one type of mass/wort and 1 rock. Very infrequent water changes. So, does anyone have a suggestion for a carpet plant then?
