Yes it is Gunnera, but not Manicata. It's tinctoria which is what most plants sold as Manicata actually are. A more manageable 5-6ft high. Manicata grow huge! 😁

Didn't realise this one has been going on since 2014. I have three long term aquariums on the go, none have had co2 injection since end of 2016. This is the youngest. I guess these kind of planted aqaurims tend to have a wilder look to them, but then I dont tend to over manicure the plants.

I think there are about 9 in total red tail and red finned sharks. One is an albino. There are two chunky female rtbs who regularly square off against each other. There are no serious squabbles, but they do have a pecking order. Any chased are just to move out of the way, but relentless chases...

Thanks Ian, female red tail sharks kind of give their name some justice. Beautiful fish. I do have the two others going they are primarily single rainbowfish species aquariums. I will post an update soon. They are all in process of regeneration since neglecting them a bit last year.

Feels like it's regenerated a bit better. I also added some smaller varieties of anubias and bucephalandra.

Filip, do you not have any issue with condensation in your house? That is also of open water. I had to get acrylic covers made for big tank in the living room, although the smaller 700l in my hallway doesn't have any.

There is at least one dedicated manufacture and a couple of others that can build acrylic tanks, but it is not their only business.

I really, really don't want that kind of Heron to visit. I had not seen one in three years, but I have PIR water guns set up, fishing line around the perimeter and those horrid plastic things in the pond. They are supposed to not like closed in spaces, I'm hoping I don't get any bold ones...

I saw a bloody Heron on my neighbours roof a couple weeks ago. Trying out various deterrents, not seen it again and no fish taken. I have added Jikin and Watonai goldfish to the pond. Early in the season it is only just starting to awake.

Most Haunted is the most common version of these type of show in UK, but we also get some of the ones you listed. Also Paranormal Investigators and some I cant remember. Occasionally you actually see some interesting footage, that is if it hasn't been meddled with. Who knows for sure with tv shows.

I have kept green and black varieties of Skeleton King, its the only Bucephalandra sp. I tried that eventually fails. Im talking over a period of a year or so, but I am not sure it is a successful 100% of the time being submersed. Maybe you will have better luck. :)

Yes they are a good mix. In that tank I would stick to species that are under 4"/10cm. Where are you based? There are many, many species and even more varieties, many have only been discovered in the last 10 years and a lot have not received scientific names yet.

If it was a reef set up, you really really wouldn't want to count the expense, that is why I stopped my reef interest, to concentrate on Rainbowfish. Too much money...

Nicely scaped. I have one of these tanks, but I use it for fry, not scaped. I am not sure that the leds solution they provide will be powerful enough for many plants. Try and see though, supplementing with carbon certainly will help.

Yes, although I did say treated water changes, by which I meant treated for such.

Most Bacteria is not in the water column, it is in the filter media and hardsurfaces, large treated water changes should not have any significant impact on bacterial populations.

I was told not to fiddle too much as there was a chance of going blind... I suspect that is a myth though. Even so, I don't very often, maybe once a week during water changes and the low tech tanks even less.
