After 12 months of use I've just taken my boyu off and gone back to a Rhinox diffuser. Think it must have become blocked and wasn't diffusing co2 properly. Couldn't DC passed dark green anywhere in the tank.

I recently stripped my tank down recently after 6 months and you still got a slight whiff of the deodorant. But no adverse affect and flora & fauna.

I was going thru a 2kg FE once a month which was a bit disconcerting when everyone else seem to be saying a 2kg would last them months. When I connected by last FE which was a 5kg I wrapped the threads with PTFE and it lasted 8 months.

Is it possible to do too many water changes? Large and often water charges are advocated during the setup of new tanks but what about established tanks. Whilst the weather has been hot I have been doing 50% water changes, alternating nightly between my two tanks (osaka 155 and Roma 125) and...

This is all I did for my 2 tanks and I've had no problems so far. Left it in the tank for 24hrs did water change and then added plants and fish.

Apparently this has now made it thru customs, and I'm hoping some will make it may way, this is the last plant on my order made before Easter. (Not a criticism, Tony has been in contact all the way)

It really loves CO2 and grows like mad with it unfortunately my gas ran out about a month ago and due christmas and birthdays I couldn't afford another cylinder and it has melted away to about 1 plant. But I do have some in another tank with doesn't have co2 and its growing quitealong nicely.

I applied easycarbo directly with a small paintbrush when I did a water change. Results were visible the next day. Just done a rescape on the Osaka and took my wood out and left it outside and let the frost kill it off.

I'm just about to rescape my Osaka 155l using tescos leightweight litter This how its packaged now Closeup Colorwise It is heavily scented and does take quite a bit of washing. £2.95 for 10 litres Londis do a similar product that isn't scented but is £2.99 for 6 litres

It depends on which type you use. I have use Tescos value cat litter which turns to soft clay when water is added, best used in tank that you won't be doing a lot of plant moving as it makes a hellava mess. But had great results with it beneath a deep layer of sand. Tescos also do a cat litter...

I use a 5% bleach solution and leave the plants to soak for a couple of minutes and then shore well in a strong debilitating solution before adding to my tank. Although if the plants have alrea been in the tank them its more than likely that their in the substrate

I would suspect that the co2 in a FE, which many of us use, would of a lower grade than food grade co2

Using Akadama and have no problems with my corys with it

I slackened the clamps off a little so that I can remove it easily and place it at the rear of the tank so that I still have light when doing maintenance. It can also be pivoted so that you can angle the light back into the tank

I just use tap water and then leave it to dry.

I had this problem last week and put it down to contamination. Make sure you rinse you dc out properly and any thing that you use to fill it i.e. pipette or syringe. I think I used my syringe for measuring some dechlor solution. Have labelled now so I know which one is for the 4dkh solution

Installed an inline difusser that's helped make it last for another couple of weeks but have given up worrying about it now that I found somewhere that does refills for a 2kg tenner.
