As tempting as the grenade is, it might get a tad messy :lol: Nowhere to move the shrimp I'm afraid. I appear to have/had them in both my tanks. The only place clear is my frog tank and the poor shrimp would have even less of a chance in there. :shock:

A quick update on this thread. I have had another tank set up for a couple of months ready for some dwarf puffers. I had some cherry shrimp in it temporarily. They started to disappear. I blamed the water quiality (all fine) so in the end blamed the pump possibly not being too shrimp friendly...

I read it I know the crystals were a no no, but did the vet say anything about the tablets? I'm guessing it will be the same answer as the crystals :? Just seems daft buying 100ml when, as you said previously, you only need 1 or 2 ml.

They are suprisingly clean eaters to be honest. Very little, if any, bloodworm are left after a feed. Please forgive my ignorance as I am still very new to this, but surely a high bioload would show up on the tests wouldn't it? I am loathe to add anything that might start munching on any eggs...

All the substrate was removed and scrubbed when I had the green algae, as the entire tank was covered, but that was about 6 weeks ago or so. Nothing since. Only change to the filter is the addition of siporax about 3 weeks ago (50% of filter volume) I only have a bog standard master test kit...

That may be true, but it's deeply satisfying squishing the wee blighters :twisted: :lol: I spend about 20 minutes fishing out as many as I can and the remaining available ones get the spatula. The shrimp make very short work of the ensuing mush....

That's the biggest problem to be honest. I use sinking wafers and pellet food for the shrimp, so the snails tend to get to it as quickly as the shrimp do :? There are also plenty of plants for them to snack on as well.

Any idea how I would make a snail trap that is baby shrimp proof? I can't wait for the assassin eggs to start hatching to be honest.

Only about 10 inches, they are one of the smallest species of uro, whereas the egyptians can easily get to 3 foot in length. The tail is their main defense and they use it extremely well, I have the scars to prove it. :D
