    Cutting fluval hose?

Hi all So, I have a 576l tank with a 112l sump, I recently made my own co2 reactor, and wanting to fit the new model UV light from fluval on it. I usually use 25mm silicone hose to do the job, but thing is, it's very easy to kink up or bend if it needs to go around something. So I saw the...

CO2 Reactor for small tank..which ones?

I measure ph with my tds pen, same spot daily. I can place the probe in my overflow chamber and leave for a few minutes for the probe to stabilize. I contacted the guy in Germany, He told me to measure pH in my sump with the diffuser and then with the reactor. Obviously the micro bubbles from...

CO2 Reactor for small tank..which ones?

Only if I shut off the valve completely will it burp out gass every now and then. But slightly open it doesnt do that :) I dont quite get why my ph is higher hmm. If we assume it dissovles 100% then should be better than a diffuser, and the 3bps I was running on diffuser should be more than enough

CO2 Reactor for small tank..which ones?

Update on the reactor, hmm not really happy about it... 4.5bps 1.5bps more than with my co2art diffuser. And yet pH is still 0.2 higher than with diffuser. Using 50% more co2 to get less of pH drop just feels weird

CO2 Reactor for small tank..which ones?

Hi Sdogg, yea after opening the bypass a bit, my pH actually raised. Now im at 1bps more than my diffuser, thought I was gonna save on Co2 with this reactor hmm

CO2 Reactor for small tank..which ones?

Thanks, will try to open it a bit :) I have now opened bypass 10-15°, will give it a couple of days to settle in :)

CO2 Reactor for small tank..which ones?

I see, yea running 12/16mm hose, will leave it as is. Just feels weird its less effective than diffuser

CO2 Reactor for small tank..which ones?

Hi all I just installed the midi version yesterday with a bypass on my 576l tank with 112l sump. Previously had the co2art bazooka which was doing a good job 3bps was enough to go from 7.5ph to 6.9, green on the drop checker with 20 ppm fluid in. The reactor is driven by a Eheim compact 600l/h...

    Question about drop checker

Thanks, yea I will look into that :) ! Thanks all Just a quick following up question. I found this on Amazon.de (I'm from denmark) It says 20mg/L is that the same as 20ppm ?

    Question about drop checker

Thanks for clarifying :) I measured exactly 1ml og the drop checker solution and exactly 1ml of distilled water. I just find it hard to see the color of it maybe it's more than 15ppm and turning into yellowish? I'll try adding a few more drops, worth a try :)

    Question about drop checker

Hi, thanks :) So drop checker is basically a ph indicator, and since I don't know my kh I will not know how much ppm co2? I actually just found a test report for my well water, it says 48mS/m, not sure if that can be converted to kH?
  13. R

    Question about drop checker

Hi all :) I recently decided to convert my low tech to gas. Tank was running low light and ferts fine with not many algeas, so I do not plan to mess with the lighting, as that seems good. I just wanted to get a confirmation that I'm doing this right :) I got a co2art regulator yesterday...

    Cory food thats not messy?

Thank you all :) ! I made a small test yesterday, I put a pellet in a glass of water, and let it sit for hours, I noticed how the water turned slightly cloudy and full of small micro particles. Exactly as my tank water. Did the same test with an algae type pellet, and no clouding or particles...

    Cory food thats not messy?

Hi all :) I was wondering what type of cory food you are using, I'm currently using NLS pellets, they love them but I find they cloud up my water alot with alot of small particles floating around. It's to the point where I only feed cories every other day so the tank get a chance to clear up...

    UV sterilizer

Just a quick update :) Added 50ppi sponge to sump this weekend, cleared everything up quite a bit :) there's still a grey haze to the water, but I think I'll take your advice and let it sort out on its own:)
  18. R

    UV sterilizer

Hi again, thanks for the tips :) That filter looks interesting. I bought some 50ppi filter sponge 50x50x5cm I can cut to size and fit in the sump, there's room anyways, can double the layer so the 50ppi matt will be 10cm thick, you think that will do the trick? I just hope it won't clog up too...

    UV sterilizer

Thank you for helping, will take it into consideration :-) maybe I should just be more patient hehe. Yea under the sand is alot of spaghnum / clay for the root feeding plants. I'll be patient, the tank is gonna stay with me for many years :-) and not the type that likes to rescape

    UV sterilizer

Hi Zozo, Thank you very much :) Well always is the tanks life span 6month, I've always noticed it, and always wondered when it would go away, or if it would on its own. That's why I was curious if UV could help me out I wouldn't say the tank is heavily stocked, but 50 cardinal tetras, 25...

Thank you for replying 🙂 will go through the links and see, your tank looks great btw! Yeah I won't be adding any thing yet. Tank is still only 3 weeks old. I have a bunch of shrimps both amanos and rcs, will they end up as food you think?

GUIDE: Auto Dosing EI (Estimative Index) With Jebao / Jecod DP Series

One way to have it not dose on water change day would be to put in on a WiFi socket, that is simply off that day :) Also to avoid the shaft from spinning inside the pump heads, could you add a coat of something rubbery to the parts that is touching the shaft? Just some thoughts :-)

What Leds should I use for Diy?

Oh I see, :-) very good answer! What Leds should I use for Diy?

Yes thanks :) I don't want to drill the tank really.. And im sure i have a 54l starter kit somewhere :D! Thanks for the Hint Alastair! Though im not a fan of the Eheim E models. My experience tells me they act up and slows down when you mount a reactor and heater and stuff on it. Aka it thinks it needs a clean but infact it doesnt :-) But could you link it to me :-P ?
  92. R

Eheim 2075 overkill for 72l aquarium?

Hmm yea, but with that size of reactor i hope it takes away some of the flow. I'd rather have too much flow than having to add powerheads later on.. My plan was to get a full length spraybar and mount along the back of the tank, pointing to the front glass.
