    P@H/Coopet Nano cube

Went into my local Pets@Home in Chichester, and there was absolutely no sign of any Coopet Nano tanks. Looks like i need to post up a Wanted thread. Sam

So is it safe to assume that these are no longer stocked at P@H stores? I've even searched ebay for these tanks with no luck. Cheers, Sam

    Discus Safe plants

Hi All, Soon to be setting up my Planted Discus tank. I have 5ft*2ft of sand bed to cover, but i want to keep the front open for swimming space. I would like low maintenance plants, but i can add CO2 and Fertz (if need be) with ease as the tank will be GHL Profilux controlled. The tank is 30"...

    Sump Return Plumbing

Cheers for that, That makes sense. I've been offered a brand new Oase Ecomax 6000 for £100, which is what i plan on using, Although i do wonder if it's a little too powerful, especially for Discus. Would it be wise or sensible to have one 40mm Down and one 40mm Return, and block off the 34mm...

    Sump Return Plumbing

Erm, Hopefully it wasn't worded like that, but i did say, twin 40mm Down pipes, and currently a single 21.5mm Return. But i've been warned that if i use pipe that's too small, i will have pressure issues which could cause a leak. The question was then, What would be the best way to decrease the...

    Sump Return Plumbing

Hi All, I've come to a dead stop with the planning of my new Planted Discus tank. It's an ex Marine ND Aquatics 60*30*24 tank, 2 wiers, with 2 40mm Downpipes (63mm Bulkhead) And the return pipe work was B&Q 21.5mm Waste pipe (21.5mm Bulkhead/34mm size hole in glass) Looking into Weir: Whole...

    Electronic Ballasts

Hi All, For my new build, i plan on using 2 2*24w Dali Dimmable ballasts connected to my GHL Profilux. I plan on using 2 of these: Osram Quicktronic Dali Ballast I've read around that some ballasts can cause Interference for standard Radio/TV, would these cause any interference? I would also...

    Throught the Distance - with step-by-step video - 300l

A nice looking tank, And good looking Discus too. One thing i've learned with Discus, is dark backgrounds/substrates can lead to Peppering. I had 2 Blue Diamonds with black substrate, and i did get small amounts of Peppering on them. Good luck. Sam

    Plants for 2*2ft Cube?

Hi All, My Cube has now been cleaned, and is now running like a charm once again, but i'm stumped on what plant's i can introduce. This is how i currently have my substrate: Front: Side: Lighting wise is 4*24w, will be changing the bulbs in a week or so time. Will be using Dried ferts, dosed...

quick tank poll. doable or not?

Yeah, the Godiva range are used by a lot of Marine keepers on a Marine forum i'm on. Not visited the store myself, but have bought bits from them. Sam
  18. samkiller42

quick tank poll. doable or not?

True enough, It is quite a lot of hassel. In the end it was £350 for mine, given the £50 Van hire, and Diesel. I had a look on Coventry Aquatics, as they have a very high praise, but their tanks were closer to £1000 for your size, but they do look stunning. Sam

quick tank poll. doable or not?

Have you considered a pre-owned tank/cabinet? I bought my 5*3*2 for £200, included all pipework, return pump and the cabinet, but i do need a new cabinet, which i hope will come to under £200. You can pick up some great deals, especially when the person selling is moving, thus they need it gone...
  22. samkiller42

quick tank poll. doable or not?

I did ask them how much it would cost to buy a cabinet from them separately, but it would be almost double what i could do myself with a mate. Personally, if i had the room, i would go 6*2*2, and enjoy the massive shoals of fish you will be able to introduce. Sam
  23. samkiller42

quick tank poll. doable or not?

Haha, yes i was looking at ND. My 5ft tank is an ND tank, and is Solid. Can't comment on their cabinets though, as i don't have one, and i'm building my own. Sam
  24. samkiller42

quick tank poll. doable or not?

Would you be selling your stand? You can pick up a 72*24*18 tank, without stand for £238, OR £268 for 24 wide. But £535 for all inc (if it is all inc) is very good. Sam

    CO2 & Sump

Hi All, Wondering what would be the best way to add CO2 into a Sump'd aquarium. The return pipe work from my sump to my tank is 19/27mm Hose. I will be covering the sump, mainly to minimise water lose due to evaporation. Reason i want it to enter the sump is to keep all equipment out of the...

Thanks for all the advice thus far. Going with the Moss Wall idea, which will run along the back, and around the weir. I'm still undecided on what other plants to have, as theirs so much to choose from. Some new questions for you all to ponder. Lighting. I have a 4*24w T5 system (Came with...

    General Advice

@ Drouthie, I bought it pre-owned of a reefing forum, Infact it was andyseatrout's, and i believe it's a Seabray tank. I was looking at one from ND Aquatics, which is £275 new for tank and cabinet, or £394 for the Marine Version with Sump. Regarding Gourami's, was looking at either Dwarf...

    General Advice

Hi All, I have a 2ft*2ft Cube that i'm planning on creating into a planted community aquarium. I have a fish stock idea already: Dwarf Rainbows, Tetras, Gold Rams, Albino Corys, Bristlenose Pleco's, Gourami's. Unfortunately my Plant knowledge is rubbish, so i don't know what plants would be...
