Hi all, I made a plywood lid for my tank last week and never thought about the after affects, is there any cheap way of water proofing plywood as I have some mould building up on the wood?

I'm not completely sure but zamzar.com you can convert any file (I think) in to the one you want. I'm not great on pc, so probably wrong! but hope it helps.
Watched both of these, I was rather disappointed with 'the thing' compared to the original but I did enjoy 'drive' and would recommend it. Also I watched 'awakening' last week, it's not bad if you like a spooky thriller.
Thanks hoggie, but this is exactly what I had done! from where I had the tube from the reg to the solenoid it kept splitting the tube after and hour or so after the solenoid kicked in. I'm using jbl co2 tubing so thought it would withstand the pressure build up?! I think I might be able to...
I recently bought this solenoid value
And I have this co2 set http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/colombo-floragrow-co2-nano-set-p-3882.html?cPath=194_247
How would you suggest to fit the solenoid? I've been having some difficulty with it!?
Thanks
Tom
Ukaps is the best place to learn about planted tanks, for several years I've been trying to have a lush green tank! Since I've been a member my knowledge of the subject has improved significantly and I would like to thank all the members and founders for there help

Just watched the trailer and tbh it seemed to be another American take on the end of the world but the effects did look good!
My girlfriend wanted to watch a few of these but was unsure so I'll take you word :-)
I watched TinTin last night ( bit childish) but I've got to admit its worth a...
I would try cherry shrimp as they are easy to care for and easy to breed and they can live in water from 14c-30c but prefer about 22c. I have 2 micro crabs in my 65l with cherry's and they seem to get on fine, but only seem to come out night?! Oh and also will bring colour to you tank.
I've only ever been there once before. Normally I drive half hour to a shop look around and then drive home, but if I go to crews hill (still half hour) I can look in at least 4 shops and even have a pint in the only pub ;-)
I have had the lights on for 5 hours a day for the past week, I also removed as much of the bleeding stuff with a tooth brush as I can. All seem's to going well so far with only a little returning and I've order a cheap solenoid, so Hopefuly I will be able to stabilise my co2.
One quick...
Assassins creed is the best game of all time in my opinion, soon to be the last one in October. The only game I can get my misses to play is cod and it's still painful watching her play it!
Thanks for the quick reply, im still currently running my co2 without a solenoid so this would cause uneven co2 and im also dosing 10ml of tpn a week. should i dose daily or is weekly fine?
I have been trying to control it manualy by getting as much of it out as i can, but after a day or two it...
I've been experiencing a slite case of algae, which i believe it to be 'thread algae'. I have read that it can be caused by an excess of iron? If so how i can reduce the iron level in my tank?
Tom
slight change, I have rehomed the unknow plant at the back and i have added Proserpinaca palustris and Ludwigia palustris red.
I've also added a hang on breeding trap for my pygmy corys (they seem to have eggs every week)
so here's a few pic's...

£4 each .I'm getting them from kesgrave tropicals, i've not seen them in any of my lfs before and I've never received livestock via post so fingers crossed!
Thanks for the reply :thumb up: I have Done a bit of research on them and decided to buy a few, I just wanted to see if any one had any experience with them. Have you been able to breed them?
Tom
Re suggestion on pygmy corys, are they diggers? don't want to upset the HC?
Pygmy corys don't really dig they just like a rummage, I don't think they would manage to uproot HC!
Tom
What should I be feeding my pygmys corys? I have 4 baby's in my breeding trap and I have been feeding them on liquifry. They are about 3 weeks old and I've started feeding them with jmc catfish pellets, is this ok?
"i like the paintball canister co2 home made systems any pic or vids on how to make or links to other pages would be great"
Do you mean the fluval mini 20g co2 setup?
Tom
Thanks Darren, I only got the light last Friday. It originally came with 1 t8 18w but I didn't think that would be adequate for what I wanted to grow.
Tom
Hi, this is my first proper attempt at growing plants and going hi-tech.
The tanks been running for about 2 months now, so I thought I would post a few pics and some details about it.
Tank- Aqua one horizon 65l
Light- Hagen glo t5 ho 2x24w
Filter- fluval 205
Heater- hydor inline 200w
Co2-...
It's is blue and on the bottle it says co2 indactor maybe it's already been mixed? I'm going to get a bottle of bromo blue just be on the safe side.
Thanks for links.
Thanks for the reply, my heater is on the outlet pipe, but the inlet hosing is about twice the length of the outlet! Do you think the difference in length could cause this?
Tom
It makes no difference, I placed a pillow underneath. It sounds like the propeller going round, it turns over 680lph so I can't see theres not enough flow! I think the only way to reduce to noise is by concealing it in a cabinet and try to soundproof it. But unsure what the best material would...
Hi has any one got any ideas to reduce the noise from external filters? I used to have a eheim 2213, which was fairly quiet untill i added a hydor inline heater and the noise increased loads. i thought this was due to power of the filter so i upgraded to a fluval 205 but there has been no...

Do you mean you have your own forum or have I mis-red this?
