How do I get my plant in to market?

I got this very beautiful mutated plant one year ago in my own emersed plant bucket, and over the winther I have pruned it and replanted, and it seems to be stable as I can see. The mutation gives the plant slower growth, than original, but there is some spots with no green pigmentation, naturly...

    Id on floating plant

I found this floating plant in an pond in Thailand and brought it home. It is bigger than Lemna minor and very similar, but smaller than salvina natans but not the same leaf structure or surface. Slightly red or purple on the downside and green upperside. Any guess on the name?

Thanks A. Yes, It has been propagated for some times now, and this one is an third time propagation from shootings. My first submerged. So I belive it is somehowe stable. But you say it will be more or less stable if the cuttings are taken from furher up or down the plant? please elaborate...

Algea id, root of cause and how to deal

Thanks Darrel for replying. Thats good to hear, now I know where to put efforts. But no snails are coming in to my tanks, I consider them as bad as algea. Bute some 20 amanos is to be hiered soon. Cheers H

240 liter optiwhite with CO2 and 108w flourucent lightning Doing a ton of waterchanges, and now got rid of the big root, and thinking thjis was the issue. But no! I would not say the growth is good, but plants do bubbel at evenings, and some new leafs comes out. But after some week the algea...

Thanks Andy. Peroxide was used for algea issue. And I wont use it permanently, just for my issue. H
  21. H..

    H2O2 and Fe

Thanks Michael. My Fe uses DTEA, but I will have to look what my other nutrients are using as chelator. But perhaps when my algea issues are reducing, I will take away the oxydator. H
  22. H..

    H2O2 and Fe

Thanks x3nith. That was some heavy reading, and my english reading cant handle the technicalities. I just started to dose 2-3 times a week with Fe, so the plants will have Fe available.
  23. H..

    H2O2 and Fe

Thanks all for replyes. Apreciated. I was struggling with some algea issues a month ago, so I started adding H2O2 in an oxydator with continius peroxide release 24/7. Some week later I see my stemplant (Limnof aromatica ) stunned of a bit, and plants are not bubbling like they used to. So I...

  25. H..

    H2O2 and Fe

I have been thinking for a while now about whether it could be that Fe in the micronutrient is destroyed by hydrogen peroxide H2O2. I think the aquarium has poor growth shortly after a water change and nutrient addition. Is it known if the chelate in Fe (DTEA) is destroyed by H2O2 addition...

    GH+ vs CaCl2

OK, that could be the case, I can not taste any Mg, but Mg does not tase very significantly. I have Mg SO4, but no MgCl2, this should be no bigger difference... so you are using both Ca and Mg to remineralise. In what ratio are you mixing? grams or ml to liters?
  27. H..

    GH+ vs CaCl2

Hi folks. I am using an GH+ from "salty shrimp-beeshrimp minerals GH+", to get higher GH in my shrimp tanks (Crystal red tanks). I tasted the beeshrimp mineral and this is exactly like CaCl2 in my taste. So I had to test the TDS rise from osmosis water with both the GH product AND, also my...

    Increasing GH

Hi again. Tryed to raise Gh this weekend. Slowly raising and testing once every day. GH was at 2 in the start in my three tanks at 100 liter and raised them with: #1, 15ml Ca only, and raised to 5 #2, 15ml Mg only, and raised to 4 #3, 15ml Ca and 15ml Mg. raised to 7. Testkit was new and I...

    Increasing GH

Thanks Witcher, this is probably just what I was looking for. I will try this right away. And the Ca/Mg ratio in my tapwater is 15ppm Ca, and 1ppm Mg, perhaps i can add some more Mg than Calcium due to this H

    Dosing calculation please

Thanks Darrel. yhou say copper and zink is a bit high, how much higher are we talking about? 2x, 4x, 8x over an recommended value. I do have some neocaridina shrimps in my tanks. Cheers H
  43. H..

    Dosing calculation please

thanks dw1305. I will dose Fe in 0,1ppm. That will make it: 3,4 / 5 =0,68 gram per 100 liter. Now that is very small measurments. am i correct out here if I add 34 gram, to an 500ml bottle and from here add 10ml per 100liter. it should last to an 5000liter dosage and 0,1ppmFe. H
  44. H..

    Dosing calculation please

I have got my hands on some micro nutrients, and need help to calculate the correct dosage to aply this fert, particuly for Fe in ppm, and also if there will be high/low dosage of other micronutrients. B 0,33% Cu 0,4% Fe 1,7% Mn 0,84% Mo 0,062% Zn 0,24% H

Thanks zozo. And Tim OK, so soft pvc tubing is the best solution for tank hosing, I think I agreed with you in the start, but I want to be sure this is the best solution for me. Anyone dissagree with this, please share your experience. Cheers H

    What hose/tubing are you using?

Well I would like to have my hose in good condition over more than one or two years, just like you Tim, and some plastics tends to be really hard, and difficult to pull of an glass lilypipe after som few years. 56. H..

    What hose/tubing are you using?

Thanks for answer Tim and zozo, Ok, but some pipes does get hard over time due to UV-c and perhaps acid gases. Is this an issue om PVC? Tim , your link didnot tell what kind of plastic it was, perhaps pvc? H

    What hose/tubing are you using?

    ReverseOsmos wastewater

Thanks zozo, for explaining algea and slowgrowers. And as you say, I am dead set on that my wastewater is containing parameters that triggers BBA. I have earlier noticed that making less or smaller waterchanges is better for BBA, i mean it reduces BBA in my tanks. And therefor iwill make an...

Thanks zozo for reply. So an increase of wastewaters ppm´s by x 1,33. OK, thats easy to understand If I make an 50-75% waterchange i will have lots of microbubbles, just as an normal waterchange, but much more, so it looks really oxygenized after, this i suspect is one of the triggers, and...

My HC in dry srart method

Thanks mick, this is interesting. I was suspecting the spraying was an problem, and perhaps that strong lamps would burn the leafs due to water drops effects- or soething else. So I guess that humiditiy is a key factor in front of "rainforest"
