    Gooseneck light suggestions

I have Kessil's on my marine tank but they're a bit expensive for my tastes (like the AI ones) for a small tank like this. TMC used to do a tile for marine and for fresh/planted that weren't that expensive but build quality and reliability were an issue. One of my marine tank has a full spectrum...

yeah I considered a pi but in the end I went for an arduino as i wanted to do it more of an embedded solution rather than computer based solution. if i'd gone for the pi I may as well have just chucked an old £5 android smartphone in as the processor+interface with a usb breakout cable on it.

I've been working on a tank controller for about 8 months now based on arduino measuring tds/ph/temp (at multiple points)/flow rate through pipe work at multiple points and also a lighting controller. Idea being that I'd make it all easily controllable via a little 5 inch touch screen colour...

well the wattage is just the amount of energy given (or could be measured in amount used ie 24w bulb gives out 18w usable etc but thats kinda pointless again as increase in wattage would still result in a brighter output) The brightness when looked at by us depends on colour ranges a dark...

  45. hinch

PAR vs PUR - Latest Opinions in Planted Tanks

from my basic understanding its all bullshit. since light is a particle stream (photons) by increasing the brightness you increase either the quantity of photons or the energy value carried by the photons. increasing either value would lead to an increase in usable radiation. the actual used...
