This tank is looking absolutely awesome George. That last photo is amazing, looks as if you used an underwater camera in the wild and took a picture! The algae, i think, adds to the natural feel of the scape. This scape really reminds me of a nature aquarium documentary i saw on YouTube...

That's very helpful actually :) I cant imagine it to put vast amounts of pressure on the filter, well not enough for it to be worrying.

Increasing your water surface agitation will help it go away as it gets 'sucked' under the surface and is taken up by the filter :)

Dwarf puffers!

I've already solved the problem now by using the tap on the outflow to reduce the flow, cheers for the suggestion anyway :)

Lovely tank jack, i bet them puffers are loving it too :) I see you didn't use a heater? My tank temp is around 21C constantly with not much fluctuation, would puffers survive in this? I've also been looking at the fluval edge 25w heaters, nice little things.

Ok guys, so you might remember my previous tank 'Nature's River'. After lots of neglect and poor maintenance the tank got into a very bad state. Algae took over and my plants started to rot leaving me with a brown tank. Also my lights failed a few weeks back meaning the plants had no light at...

I asked this question ages ago! Wow im surprised this threads still going :) I Settled on Aqua essentials in the end, very good quality.

I had a tank ageeesss ago and i had no covers on the lights, the evaporation never affected it :) I wouldn't do it though if you've got little ones running about

Yes you can remove the plastic cover, no it wont be waterproof ;) A reflector would be a good idea, if you can find one :thumbup:

Looks to be a trumpet snail (correct me if im wrong guys), they cause no harm and dig through your gravel, eating all the nasties and they help to circulate the gravel too :) Not sure if you should put it in your planted tank becuase it may uproot plants? Not too sure though

Yeah those plastic plants do look pretty cool i must admit, make sure to clean off every last little bit of the bleach because your live stock (if your having any) wont thank you for it :P What glassware you getting?

Usually a couple of hours, are you sure the hole at the bottom of the ladder to allow bubbles to go up isn't blocked?

Ive got alot left over from my 2.5kg bag if you need some, its coarse though, you could probably use it around the rocks as a transistion? :)
