Thanks, but everything I found, including the TMC were around 30cm or 35cm long...and that would mean having the bend of the intake pipe 5cm higher than the side of the tank...or do you have a link to a short intake pipe?

Agreed. Puffer will go for your shrimps, even if there are snails left... I had a problem with snails as well, a proper infestation of blue ramshorn and with a bit of work removing all the snails I could see by hand (or better crushing them for my shrimps to eat) and a couple of assassin snails...

Different people different choices... A couple of years ago I had a marine tank, the heater's thermostat failed and in just a day and a half away for work it killed the few fishes I had and did some serious damage to my SPS, the tank never really recovered and I ended up giving what was left to...

He probably means that you have to pay for the replacement slides... sure it's a bit of a downside but in my opinion it is well worth the money to have accurate readings without having to dig out a test kit which, after a couple of month, may not even be that accurate anyway...

My choice is as follow, it worked wonder so far, and as far as I can tell the fishes are happy everything is reproducing and growing very well and there is enough oxygen available, there is minimal fluctuation in the CO2 level and i waste as little as possible of that expensive CO2 canister...

Sorry I don't have a better answer... Maybe you could syphon out some water from your tank, pass it throug a fine mesh or those media bag and put the water back in the tank...it't time consuming but it will eliminate most larvaes if you do it several times...

Go on the Tropica website, check what your setup will allow you to grow and make your choice of plant. There are quite a few plants there with nice colours, some nymphaea looks nice in my opinion...

Oh...OK i'll cover that as soon as I can...but if I cover my filter intake won't it mess up my filter? I thought it was bad to obstruct the water intake? Also, i see only 8 shrimps? But how many shrimps does a mother produces? Just so I know how many I lost at the end...
