Good start Cookie, i would suggest, not to mix Guppies and Endlers, because the 2nd generation(hybrid) will not breed. if you are ok , you can try JBL supplement, they are usually good, i have used it for 3 years without any issue. Hope to see more update on your tank Good Luck

Does your filter circulate the water to all parts of tank/ The nutrients must reach the plant especially for inert substrates. Good Luck

Re: Brawn/Grey residue on substrate Even i have the same problem, i am using EI Dosing method and nothing else. I believe its decaying plant.

I have used ASDA play sand once, it was ok. at least i had no issue with the sand i had to wash it 4 or 5 time to get the dirt out. Good Luck

I they react with each other if kept together, that's why we keep and dose them separately
