Stu's ADA Mini M nano - Seiryu scape

This is a very bold scape. It looks 'odd' to have the rock sticking out like that, but this makes the layout unique. I think people should worry less about what looks natural and rather focus on what looks interesting.

    60x30x30 Black Rock Landscape

Everything is running well. There has been one tiny bit of thread algae, but it has not reappeared after being removed manually. I run lights for three hours on, two hours off, and four hours on. Both the grass and the glossostigma is doing very well. When replanting I could see that they are...

    60x30x30 Black Rock Landscape

I know what you mean. The problem with using rounded beach rocks is that it is difficult to get that natural 'miniature landscape' look, which is what Amano sometimes aims for. Cliffs in real life are simply not this round and smooth and even the rocks I have used here lack details enough to...

    60x30x30 Black Rock Landscape

I put five amano shrimp in there on day 3 and they are doing well. One of them is a 5 cm monster and they are all very actively sifting through the sand and climbing around on rocks, nibbling away at invisible things. I cleaned the filter yesterday, put in a new sponge and greased up the...

Tim, I will definitely try to replant the hairgrass at some point. Looking at pictures from the setup process, I think I will move the grass to the back as a background. The rock looks pretty good 'naked' and has enough details to still be interesting. Thomas, I love the dimensions on your...

    60x30x30 Black Rock Landscape

They were collected around Aarhus in Denmark. I noticed that it looks off in some way, but I don't know how to fix it. Do you mean that the rock should be moved next to the plants? I considered removing the dwarf hairgrass from the rock and using it as a backdrop to the aquarium instead...

    60x30x30 Black Rock Landscape

Well, that is pretty funny. I found mine around Aarhus. Most of them on the little stretch from Stationsgade towards Den Permanente. I found a bunch of larger sizes that I left in a pile down there. It really is incredible how this type has lines that make it looks like the rocks is 'folding'...

Thank you! Yes, but this being my first planted aquarium I was worried about making it look cluttered. It was surprisingly interesting to go out and find them. They are not common around here and finding the ones with interesting details became something of a small quest.

    Three Peaks Iwagumi

I really like the choice of different plants. I would love to see a proper picture of the whole aquarium. Be careful with the flash when taking the photo. I am trying to grow a carpet of glossostigma myself and would like to see how it has spread since initial planting.

So far so good. I was wondering at which point I should start dosing fertilizer? I am following the guide on http://www.tropica.com/en/tropica-abc/s ... a-app.aspx and they suggest waiting until the third week.

Somewhere between Hong Kong and Denmark :-) It should arrive soon. My provisional tubing is a mess, I know.

    60x30x30 Black Rock Landscape

The planting was difficult and took a looong time. Now I can only hope the hard work pays off. I roughed up the substrate a bit, but right now I will leave it so the plants can settle in.

Other members voiced this concern as well.Would it help if I raised the light, say, 30-40 cm above the aquarium? Perhaps even more than that? How about obscuring one of the light bulbs?

    60x30x30 Black Rock Landscape

Hey there, I'm new here and new to high tech plant aquariums. I have had a very successful aquarium as regards fish but now I've become infatuated with beautiful planted aquariums, as seen on this site. Hardware: - Tank: Second hand rimless aquarium from an Eheim starter set, it would seem...

My first real aquascape 30x30x60 cm, 54 l

I have shaped the substrate to my liking and I'm pretty happy with the lively feel of it now. A lily pipe set has been ordered from Hong Kong and next I will put together a yeast system. Next up: Plants! :-)

My first real aquascape 30x30x60 cm, 54 l

How about if I lift up the light a bit from the tank? I was going to make a light stand raising it 10 cm above the rim. Perhaps I should lift it up further? I might also put a cover on it made from acrylic, but I don't know if that will affect the light.

My first real aquascape 30x30x60 cm, 54 l

Hello there. I've been lurking this forum for more than half a year while slowly assembling all I need for a planted aquarium. I love the iwagumi style and wanted to try making a scape with rocks as a focal point. My aquarium is 54 litres, 60 x 30 x 30 cm. I have a 2 x 24 watt ho-T5 light. My...
