    Moss ID

Hi all I found this moss in the bottom of a flooded structure at work. It's obviously been under water a long time as this was a huge mat of moss - about 3x3m! Couldn't believe it - went to fix a broken fibre optic and came away with moss! Any thoughts on an ID? Thanks Adam

    Floater deficiency - hygroryza aristata

Hi all, Bought some of this from three-fingers on here (thanks mate!) And as you can see Im the photo some leaves are yellowing quite quick. There is some new growth which is OK. Are we thinking it's a deficiency or just a bit of transport stress and new/different tank parameters? Thanks...

    Lux - par conversion

So just out of interest I fired up a lux app on my phone, pointed it at the sun and got 66000 lux. This is roughly half the expected value for 12noon so seems vaguely accurate as its evening now? Moving on from this I measure the lux output of my led at substrate level (285 lux) and used the...

Hi all, I found this on a frogbit leaf last night and I'm wondering if anybody can ID it? The leaf had been submerged and got caught under the Salvinia so I re-floated it and that's when i found it. It is a jelly like blob firmly stuck to the leaf with with white spots in it. Any thoughts...

    Floater cover...

Thanks for the replys guys :) So, my spray bar sits about 1.5 inches below the surface firing straight across the tank. After a spot of faffing bits of debris make it across the tank pretty rapidly in the flow, so I think that part is alright. It just doesn't break the surface! Troi - What...

    Floater cover...

Hi all, I have a question about my floater coverage: Because of the almost total coverage I have very little surface agitation, so reduced gas exchange. My question is do you think would the floaters release enough o2 into the water to not worry about it? Oh and its posted in here as its a...
