Hi all
was posting on here a while ago and was more active in the hobby.
due to family illnesses and the like I have been away from my house for a good while and neglected my tank.
my dear wife has done her best with water changes etc but things are bad...
while some of the plants are still...
not been on here for a while but new babies and work have got in the way of my hobbies
so with a spring in my step I fancied getting my tank back into some kind of shape as it had been neglected bar water changes since the birth of the little one.
so pre xmas I ordered some limophilia...
is there an obvious disadvantage to using an all in one mix vs macro/micro mixes?
I have built a dual peristaltic pump and would like to automate dosing, but would have to shift from using macro and micro mixes and liquid carbon, to all in one and liquid carbon.
using EI principles is it...
i have recently added lots of blyxa to my tank
I have already grown some successfully its nice and green and happy.
this batch has been put in next to it but is massively melting...
is it likely to recover once its adapted to the new tank?
Hi all
first up many thanks to all and sundry for the great advice i have had here so far,

I have managed to lay my hands on a 25 cm optiwhite cube (16l) and was seeking out advice about the...
hi all
just did my first filter clean on my 2078
when turning it back on it seemed to belch a load of stuff back into the tank
now the water is very murky with lots of particles floating around....
is this normal or have I done something wrong...
I have recently rehomed all of my fish from a small tank to the larger 190l planted effort.
in the smaller tank one of my platys (jaws) was very aggressive to the rummynose tetras chasing them away from his plastic castle.
i had hoped that the move to the new tank would bring some harmony as...
all of the substrate is being pushed back by the flow and my corys seem to like uprooting the rhizome even further...
any advice on what I can do to stop this?
Or would some alternative carpet plant work better?
I have a cheap reg with a build in solenoid and an terrible needle valve that seems to move from .5 bps to 5 bps in less than a quarter turn...
I want a decent reg to run from a refillable cylinder
all recommendations are welcome
I have reattached my hoses and followed all the instruction
it sounds louder than a washing machine I am worried that it is a dud
can anyone help????
I am a sad panda
If i ordered one from zooplus.de it would work out at about £100 which seems more realistic than the high cost of high flow ehiem models such as the 2080 or 2078...
how do these stack up against the ehiem high flow models?
I have a trigon 190l which has a fluval 305 in it at present i am...
I have set up my first high tech (injected CO2)
I am cycling the tank and I would like to know if my fish will be ok if I move them from my old to new tank
is there anything that I need to do to help them acclimatise
Dear all
I am running my trigon corner tank with a fluval 305 which seems to be a little underpowered for the size of the tank...
is it possible to add a pump onto the existing loop to increase the flow rate or should I bite the bullet and replace the filter?
if I need to replace this filter...
gulp here goes
my first foray into planted tank land
all criticism gratefully received...
this is no doubt the start of a series of blunders and miss steps.
but its all part of the fun I guess
substrate is in with a collection of rocks
I am figuring out how to attach various bits and...
Hope to gain a fraction of the experience and knowledge on these forums!
