    CO2 Refills...

I live in Halifax and have found somebody local (Boothtown) willing to sell to the public for what i consider a reasonable price. Global Surplus Limited Grantham Road, Boothtown, Halifax, HX3 6PL. A really nice bloke. I ordered a 6.35Kg bottle, he had to order it in as he doesn't stock it. He...

    5 l nano highish tech

I would say post this on any fish keeping forum and see what everyone says. This is what happens when you use the internet to learn something and don't ask questions. You shouldn't believe everything you read online. This exactly. You keep one neon in their. One!!?!!?

Supercoley's DIY LED Luminaire Mk III

If it is the pristine glass like finish you want then doing it your way is the correct choice. In the past i've even gone down to P3000 W/D to remove the scratches from a protective display cover i made. It was purely the speed thing that attracted me to the flame method. That and i like to...

Supercoley's DIY LED Luminaire Mk III

Yeah i agree. But the application in this thread is ideal for it. The smooth edge would be no good for adhesion.

Supercoley's DIY LED Luminaire Mk III

Video of Plexiglas flaming. I have only done it on 6mm Acrylic with a small gas cat soldering iron (with gas flame attachment).

Supercoley's DIY LED Luminaire Mk III

Absolutely stunning. And a ridiculous cost saving. You can flame the edges of the Plexiglas to clear them (much more fun than the sanding option and a damn site quicker). It also works for removing some scratches..... if you have any (i couldn't see any in the photos, but accidents do happen).

    >10 Amp LED dimmer?

16kHz will be more than adequate. Around 170Hz is the limit where your eyes will notice the on/off of the lights. £12 is cheap enough to avoid building your own. If you were to build your own it is only a very simple astable 555 oscilating circuit that can use transistor pairs to switch the...

    >10 Amp LED dimmer?

My first choice would be to split the circuits and run 2 or more dimmers. Possibly even be tempted to go with 4 separate ones to keep the temperature low. Obviously depends on the cost of the modules and amount of work involved. I don't think the ones for low voltage DC motors would be high...

Trigon 190 - The first adventure!

Yes I'm just using cat litter with nothing on top. I've put some osmocote in with it at the start but I'm just dosing EI as per the calculator that is on the Nutrients section of the forum. Still early days but when its a bit further along i am going to post some pictures. As Bigclown said...

    Ehiem micro skimmer 350 review.

I'll second that. I had a oily layer on the surface of my tank that i kept skimming off with absorbent paper and within a few days it would be back. After 2 days of using the Eheim skimmer and rinsing the sponge it has gone and the water surface is so clear its probably increased the amount of...

    layout for new tank

I think the arch adds something extra to the tank. Not sure what but I do like the look of it. On the first lay out my only constructive criticism was the larger piece of wood in the foreground but as you've already stated you're looking for another piece I'll wait and see what it looks like...

    Up Atomizer problem

I have tried several different brands of glass atomisers and found this to be the problem. I wasn't sure if it was the atomiser or not so i got in touch with the seller and they swapped it for another one which did the same. After this they swapped it once more and then offered me a refund if...
