Just sticking to my 50% weekly water changes, the TDS never goes over 200ppm. The CRS breeding is a sign of the water not being hardened much if at all by the rock. :thumbup:

Small update, Aquariums.ltd.uk have delivered the tank today. Fair play they sent one of their employees to deliver the tank which I believe was a 6hr round trip. Well they called today and said the tank was damaged during the attempted delivery. They have offered a refund on the delivery and are in the process of building a replacement tank for me, they say they will deliver the tank to me by Wednesday. I was shocked they called me for a change.

Well I am using a APS1000 on the same size tank (in my avatar) and with the spraybar positioned correctly everything is fine.

I have had mine for around 2 years, and paid around £100 each. Also have an APS1000 filter running on my Arc60 (tank in my avatar) but would not want to run it on anything larger than 80L.

Well I have 2 EX1200's and have not had any issues with them, for what they cost they are great filters IMO.

That is the cheapest new EX1200 I have ever seen!! Bargain IMO :happy:

If your plants are doing fine as they are there is no need to use reflectors, but if you want a little more light use them.

I run a 200W Hydor on my 60 liter tank, as already said it will be fine inless it sticks on. But the same can be said for any heater that sticks on. You just have less time to notice the problem with a heater with more power.

I would love to keep them but they do rummage round a lot, so I fear they would be disturbed the soil to much :grumpy:

IMO you can get good bargains buying second hand, usually when someone has had a short stint at fishkeeping only to sell all their equipment shortly after buying it. But I wouldn't want to buy a filter that is 3 years old, but that's just me being cautious.

Well if it helps I have grown various types of moss (8 types if I remember correctly) in my tank with no issues when dosing liquid Co2.

The weird thing is that Vallis gets on fine with EasyCarbo and Neutro Co2 but Excel makes it melt IME.

I keep my CRS breeding tank at 22 with TDS level at 120, they breed like crazy. I also have CRS in my community tank temp 25ish, the CRS wont breed in my community tank due to high TDS (280). But they do survive in the warmer water.

Well, I have the old style Roma 200 cabinet with the 2 doors and center section without door, I can fit a 5kg FE in there with no problem along with 2 Tetra Tec EX1200 filters so you should be fine as the 2 door version will allow even more access.

How are you finding the dosing pump? is it consistent with dosing the correct amount every day? have you had any problems with the one way value gumming up and becoming blocked? I am looking to get the same pump so just wanted to ask these questions to someone who has the same unit. Cheers

You nutter, lily pipes and spray bars are two different things. :facepalm: I will be using spraybars and they will run across the back of the tank.

The problem is I will be using spray bars, mainly because access to the back of the tank will be difficult so removing lily pipes from the filter pipes to clean them would be a nightmare. So spray bars are the best option for the set up.
