not seeing rapid growth in various plants

Tropica recommend 1 pump per 50L per week, which is 4 pumps a week! im pumping in 42 pumps per week and still seeing very slow plant growth & very limited algae in the tank, I do have 10 amano's 30 RCS, 6 otto's & 20 nerites in the tank though. Im thinking I may switch to the EI method soon...

not seeing rapid growth in various plants

Exactly, really stuck here. I have been assured that it wouldn’t be the light, so I’m reframing from buying a new pricey lighting fixture. However it does seem that ever since I got this new tank I have struggled to successfully create a high tech awuascape. Before this tank I converted my old...

Hi Lee, using an Tropica planted substrate as recommended by aquarium gardens when I visited. I have upped the lighting as you recommended. Do you think 6 pumps of the Tropica per day is enough? Cheers, Rory.

Touch n foam expanding foam for hardscaping

Morning, just wondering if anyone has used this product in their planted tanks? Was thinking of using to prevent planted tank substrate getting in between crevices of rocks and mixing with the sand at the front of the tank. Primarily used for pond waterfalls so would surely be fine submerses also.

    Lighting for aquascaper 900 tank

Hi, I am currently in the process of purchasing an aquascaper 900 tank, I have most things planned however I cant decide on a light for the tank, I know most people use dual kessils 180's, however I don't have £400 to spend on lighting right now! I am looking at buying a finnex planted + 24/7...

Filtration for EA aquascaper 900 200L tank

Okay, so do you think I could get away with buying a smaller filter such as a fluval 406 and just having a powerhead? That could save me £200! I'll make a thread on my setup when the tank arrives too.

Filtration for EA aquascaper 900 200L tank

Thanks for the reply LondonDragon. Do you think the Eheim professional 3e 2078 model rated at a Pump Output of 1850 ltr would do the job? I have seen people saying different things regarding the 10x flow rate rule. Such as it takes into account flow restriction (E.G I need to buy a filter or...

Filtration for EA aquascaper 900 200L tank

Thanks Paul! I did see this filter! Very expensive, but if it's my only option then I'll just have to go with it, would the EHEIM PROFESSIONAL 3E 450 FILTER - 2076 be suitable at 1650lph? Thanks for looking into this for me

Filtration for EA aquascaper 900 200L tank

Hi everyone! I am looking to buy an EA aquascaper 900 as stated in the title, I want to use lilypipes and a pressurised filter for filtration, however I was looking at a fluval FX6 and the pipe sizes just don't work for me! So I need to follow the 10x flow rate rule which takes my...

    Finnex planted + wiring question

Yeah that was my thinking, the US plug and go in still if its rotated 180 degrees, therefore it shouldn't matter, I'll try tonight. Already got a uk plug with 2A fuse ready. Cheers

    Finnex planted + wiring question

Yeah it's working fine plugged in at the moment, so the voltage isn't an issue clearly as I've already had it working. Just don't want to cut the plug off and then be left with two cables the exact same colour! i know some electrical products still work fine if L&N are reversed, however I...

    Inline diffuser fixing

thanks for the replies, I will probably try and fix it upwards tomorrow morning. seem to be getting larger co2 bubbles collect at the outlet side where it meets the tubing, then obviously as the bubble size increases it goes up into the tank, but de-gases almost instantly.

    Inline diffuser fixing

Hi, Just fitted the JBL inline atomiser into my 100 galling tank, however I struggled to fix it upright so the atomiser is sideways, will this effect the performance? Thanks for looking.

    Dual return nozzle

Anyone have any idea where I can get a dual return nozzle from my sump? I can see loc-line ones from the US, but nothing from England. My 400l tank has a few sports with low flow due to hardscape being in the way.

Currently using a evergrow full spectrum 2120

So the PAR readings for my light in the link above are too high? I've heard a lot about 80 PAR for HC, however I'll look at the links and do some more research! Thanks.

Hi, I am currently using the evergrow full spectrum lights from my old marine tank. However these lights are fully programmable and I can adjust the intensity of blue and white light completely. I currently have the lights on 100% white light for 7 hours and then 1 hour of 5% blue light in...

Hi, I have just completed my first aquascape in my 4' 90g tank that myself and my brother are both working on. This tank used to be a reef tank about 2 months ago, however we completely gutted it, cleaned it and now its time to get cracking with the planted tank addiction! neither of us have...
